The Red King
He needs to sign with the Pats and take the 1st snap of Week 1. Then he gets a one-day trade to Buff and retires with the distinction of starting a game for every team in a division! XD

folz
Obviously not Hall of Fame worthy, but one of the greatest journeyman QBs the league has ever seen. He finishes his career 32nd in all-time career passing yards [within 143-700 yards (respectively) of Jay Cutler, Andy Dalton, Jim Kelly, and Alex Smith---and all of those guys had more opportunities and fewer teams...they got to lock in as the starter for one or two teams for long stints]. He finishes 36th in all-time passing TDs (within 10 TDs of players such as Joe Flacco, Jay Cutler, Steve Young, and Donovan McNabb). Truly a phenomenal career no matter how you look at it. Congrats Ryan and thanks for the memories! No matter how many teams you played for, you will always be a Bill in our hearts! The legend of Fitzmagic will live on!

And he was fun to watch play most of the time. Look up the comeback he led with the Rams as a rookie in 2005 against the Texans. They were down by at least 20+ pts and led a great rally. That game always sticks out to me because I was in Vegas that weekend and had a nice bet on the Rams that day. The guy got the most out of his abilities. Always respected the game. And was a great teammate. Hale to Fitzy!

FilthyBeast
Not really shocking since there have been rumblings about this going back to last year when his injury ended up being worse than expected with Washington. If there was a HOF case to be made for a pure journeyman backup/fringe NFL starter he'd be a lock for Canton.

eball
The greatest moments of the "drought era" were W2 and W3 of the 2011 season when Fitzy first led a comeback victory over the Raiders and followed it up with a comeback win over the Pats***. I was lucky enough to be at both games and for a fleeting moment that season we thought we had something special. Love that guy; what a career. Part of Bills Mafia forever. Highest earning 7th round pick ever. Still can't believe he never saw a playoff game. Edited June 2, 2022 by eball

Charles Romes
His “A Football Life” on the NFL Network is going to be must-see TV. Thank you for getting Brady out of the division with that win at the season finale 2019.

Well done Fitz It honestly wouldn't even make sense for him to do this unless he truly cares about the Bills being his longest stop of all the teams he played for and the ill advised contract he was given here. Either way never heard of a backup/journeyman doing this especially one that's played for nearly a 3rd of the teams in this league.

Nextmanup
No way this is official, yet. A lot can happen between now and the start of the season in terms of injuries, unplanned roster changes, and so on. Fitz may well be getting a phone call to extend his career...unless he's straight up decided "I'm done."

You don't need to be a Michael Vick athlete to play quarterback He threw a very catchable ball with great touch and timing Our very own joe Ferguson wasn't physically imposing either

With new 16 man PS Bills should propose him come with him wearing non-contract jersey in camp and practices and Bills will on his day off work him into Beane's staff. He has the chops to teach players things they might realize and intelligence to become an asset to front office. He probably could replace Jim Overdorf in a year or two. I just read an article about the rise of the mid to lower-tier player as a commentator and in the media. Pat McAfee and Nate Burleson are two of the best media personalities out there and neither is an HOF player. The networks keep trying to get the big names, but a guy like Fitz with his character, sense of humor and knowledge of the game, not to mention knowledge of the inner workings of 11 franchises and all those players over the years, would be far more enjoyable to listen to 14 minutes ago, RevWarRifleman said: I wouldn't doubt that a movie is made about him. CorkScrewHill
A write-up by Syracuse.com that discusses this. My very favorite part was this quote “I’ve loved all of the places that I’ve played, I really have...but nothing compares to the City of Buffalo, not even close,” Fitzpatrick said last summer. He may have been a Harvard grad, but who he is more so is one of us ... a Blue Collar, Bills Mafia guy. 3
