Update: Beasley Out for Miami game. Beasley Injury Thread

Recommended Posts

I still think Smoke if out of the protocol, should play at least a couple of series with the ones, since he hasn't played in a bit. Be good for the coaches to know if he is full go at game speed.  He changes the defense when he's at top end speed.

Anyone have any examples of someone being labeled week to week and not missing multiple games? Seems like that is always the case.

Need a reason to be optimistic.

He's not going to IR?

Is that in play here at end of season re roster moves?

I think week to week is an easy way for McD to say he’s out this week without having to say, he’s not playing this week.

Obviously we will have to wait for next Wednesday now

Beasley will sit/rest this week, and I think many other 1s will do the same thing, especially with Pittsburgh standing down as well.  They will try to move heaven and earth to get him in there for the first playoff game.

This could be a really boring type of game (Miami), but that's OK.

The hype and build-up leading to our first playoff game, whoever it is against, is going to be off the chart.

I can’t see him playing this week based on the week to week thing when you consider the game is not that important.  So he falls just short of 1000 yards which kinda sucks for him but for the team what is important is he can play that WC game.   Hopefully he is healthy by then.

I mean I don’t love “week to week” because that’s worse than “day to day.” Usually when McDermott says “week to week” that’s a few weeks down. Positive news is they must think it’s something where he could still be available in a few weeks, or else they’d have just moved him to IR considering the Super Bowl is in what, five weeks?

Unfortunately no...it usually means the player is out at least 2-4 weeks...

Day to day usually means they are likely to only be out a week at most- maybe 2 in certain circumstances...

However, knowing how tough as nails Beasley is, I’m sure he will try to be ready by playoffs, but he might only be 50-75%...

That is extremely unlikely. Back in a game 11-12 days after a week-to-week designation? That would be unprecedented as far as I can recall. You have to allow for practice time as well.

This is bad news. Can't cut it any other way. We can hope to get him back at some point later in the playoffs (maybe AFCCG?) if we're able to advance without him.

I see a lot of people on here and Twitter thinking, "Oh week to week? Ok great too bad he can't get 1,000 yards but at least he'll be back for playoff game!" Evidently, not familiar with week-to-week designations.

Based on the fact that McDermott called it a leg injury (and not a knee) and the video looks like his heel got stepped on, I’d say it’s a 2-3 week foot sprain.

He will be out for the wild card round

That’s a massive massive loss. All because we were throwing in garbage time

yup. knew it when he was on the bench and allen going over to him. BUT def better than an ACL. gonna have to use knox and backs more to move the sticks. PLUS john brown coming back

I think they were trying to get him to 1000 there which is a dangerous game to play.  And a terrible throw by Barkley.

Barkley is an awful backup. We need to upgrade next season.

We cannot rely on him anymore

Brown, Diggs, Davis, McKenzie will be fine getting us to Conference Championship if he needs that long.

then KC with a Full Healthy team this time and Watch out.

I think fans are seriously underestimating how good Beasley has been this season

he is Allen’s safety valve

Nope I know what he has been. I also know what Brown has been to Allen as well. We will be fine if Bease needs to the Championship Game. Then take on KC finally completely healthy.

seems people have forgotten How good Brown and Allen have been.

People are forgetting how good Brown is.

Certainly not ideal, but Davis stays as the #3 and, outside of the Ravens, nobody has a CB1 & CB2 that can match up with Diggs and Brown.

If teams play high safety over Brown and put their #1 on Diggs, it’s going to be time for Davis to shed the rookie label and Knox to prove he’s the future at TE here.

why are you talking about the championship game lol

we need to win a playoff game first. If we play the ravens or browns in bad weather and can’t stop the run we are in trouble

We play the Ravens ooooooo Nooooooo a RB playing QB. Color me worried. Yeah there isn’t a team we cannot light up. How good did that Run defense look last night?

Oooo yeah doesn’t matter when your offense takes it out of the game.

I am not stressing a single game in the playoffs. We set the tone and pace not other way around.

I think this will help make McD's decision on how to handle next week.   Allen, Diggs, Tre, and maybe a couple others should not play.   Others should play less than typical.   The Steelers are likely to lose so the Bills should get the #2.  Get/stay healthy and make a run at the SB.

He is a big loss but he has been so good because Allen has improved so much.  Getting Brown back and losing Beasley should kind of be a push.  Not that they have the same skill set but overall the Bills should be ok with #17 dealing.

Lot of fans real cocky all of a sudden...

Why should I not be. This is a top team in the NFL?  Should I be worried about another team not named Chiefs. Nope. There isn’t another offense that can keep pace with us. Welcome to the new generation.

we have a SB caliber team. Why should I “worry” about the Ravens??

Im waiting for the NFL to re-evaluate this “one team gets a bye” thing. Might happen if Bills and Steelers rest starters in games that should matter. I’d imagine that the Colts would be livid about missing the playoffs because the #2 & #3 seeded teams treated week 17 as a bye week or preseason game.

agreed - we pretty much won two games just because we had cole to go to when everything else was shut down.

I heard that as well

Keep in mind all these guys leave the game banged up and bruised, Josh Allen gimped his way slowly across the fieldhouse to give his final presser after the playoff game, reporters be like "are you OK?" Josh be like "it's a violent game, this is normal for the day after a game"

Inevitable that anyone with a leg injury will stiffen up badly on the flight
