This seems crazy. Just gave the guy a new contract and boom he’s gone. Got to be more to the story fans might never hear. It doesn’t make sense from almost all angles. Even if he asked for release you wouldn’t grant it given the injury issues. You have him earn his job back. Really weird scenario

If Feliciano can come back soon, and Ford gets healthy... i'm ok with this.  Winters needs to stop starting for us, but hes an ok backup.

I'm hoping we can lock down a long term situation for this OL to play together...  Dawkins, Ford and Morse (under contract) with Feliciano and Williams (potentially new contracts) moving forward.  I think that's a pretty good line that can pass block well and has the toughness to spring our running game.

Croom is with the Eagles and scored a touchdown last week.

This still is a head scratcher. He was a good athlete and showed glimpses but never seemed to get a chance...he's better than Sweeney as an example

That's what he gets for giving up all those rushing yards to the Chiefs on Monday Night!!

Who's with me?!?

(was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?)

New O line for the Jets game.

Dawkins, Bottler, Morse, Mongo, Williams

Hopefully Mongo is ready to go.

Hes been on IR for 3 years.  Hard to get playing time when you're constantly hurt.  Its amazing they held on to him as long as they did.  He broke the Marcus Easley record for most consecutive IR time on a single team.

From reports I’ve heard in past hasn’t he sucked all year? Really just playing due to our other injuries. His play dropped from last year.

Has he sucked more than the others though? I think they really want Feliciano on the line and so Ford has to play LG. Cutting Spain saves money then, but it is just an odd turn of events.

Ha, not to mention his play time on the Eagles is because their top two guys are injured.

Got slammed for this earlier in the year, but the Texans playoff game should have been his last in a Bills uniform.    They need some nastiness on this team, they also need a wake up call.  Will be glad to see Feliciano back.

Hopefully this clears cap space for a RB, TE or Edge Rusher.

Showed up out of shape and never really seemed bought in this year.

Spain was the offseason Iron Bills Champion... So don't think the out of shape/bought in angle is why he got released. Probably didn't like getting benched and there was likely some behind the scenes stuff that we do not know about. Sucks, but is what it is. Wish we could have gotten a pick for him but don't want a guy in the locker room that absolutely does not want to be here

  • Removed all mention of the Bills from his social media after getting benched
  • Looked disinterested on the sidelines in the game following his benching
  • Had last-minute "foot soreness" out of nowhere

Methinks he was salty about getting benched and asked for his release.

Not sure, maybe he's lazy at practice. Maybe this is a message for these guys to step up their game. For Sure Feliciano is playing one guard and Cody the other. Could hurt us in depth down the road.

Because he's capable..  Backup OL aren't starters for a reason.

he's not capable, he's a terrible player as he's shown since inserted in to the lineup. Some backups are good players. He is not

You’re probably right. It does save us money next year too and if the plan is now Ford at LG Mongo at RG we don’t need Spain and Winters. Spain has the least versatility on the line after all.

This benching thing McD is doing is a little unconventional. Hope it works for Murphy and Harry.

Team is a real pain in the keister sometimes. Makes zero sense. Especially with Ford week to week.

It doesn't make sense to you (a fan) because you don't have all the information.

All we are left to do is speculate, but it's obvious he fell out of favor. Firstly, he wasn't playing well. Then I'm sure something or a series of things happened that led to his release.

Let's put it this way,  maybe not great but a good guy to have around for depth and cap number was only 4.8 million,
