Ethan in Cleveland
Move Ford back to RT and let Winters play RG. At least try that for a few series. Run game was brutal today.

BuffaloBillsMagic1
Turnstyle Williams looked like Mills from a few years back. Get Nysecke back in there if healthy. Edited September 13, 2020 by BuffaloBillsMagic1
John from Riverside
I thought the OL including the right side looked pretty good today....... We didnt force the issue in the running game because the pass was working great Just now, BuffaloBillsMagic1 said: Turnstyle Williams looked like Mills from a few years back. Dont Stop Billeiving
Run game probably needs more time to gel but the Jets were #2 run defense in the league last year. It's literally the one thing they excel at. Same as the Bass situation, let's see what these guys look like against Miami at the very least before making any decisions. 2

wvbillsfan
I must’ve watched a different game. I thought it was fine. Jets loaded the box and sent 5 people or more consistently. I’ve got no problem with the blocking or game plan. Would’ve like to see Allen run less. But at this point it’s what we do and I’m ok with it. Bangarang
I usually don’t notice our o-line unless someone is getting beat badly. My initial impression was the pass protection held pretty well.
Rc2catch
We weren’t running up the gut on that Jet defense. MJS
I think the oline was good on pass plays, but also the Jets defense was playing contain and trying not to give Allen rushing lanes, so that made it easier on them. The run blocking wasn't good, but it was also the first time the oline has played this year and the Jets do have a good defensive line. We'll see how it goes going forward. Lurker
Nope. They just need to keep working together as a group and develop better continuity. And play calling that repeatedly sends Motor up the middle, rather than putting him in space to use his ellusiveness, might be something Dabol should revisit... FLFan
The strength of the Jets D is against the run. That’s why they threw the ball 43 times, you know, like it was a plan. The pass protection was excellent. No need to panic on the run game just yet.
atlbillsfan1975
The Oline was a wall in the first half on pass pro. The second half the running lanes opened up. Remember Gore has been over there all offseason. I’m sure he was able to give Williams some useful info in the run scheme.

Both Miami and NE's DL looked pretty porous against the run today. Cam did well enough and is still a handful to tackle. Edelman can still catch a football. Gilmore had a decent game.
Motor26
I wouldn’t read into it too much. Jets only strength is run defense. Pass protection was very good. Bills played to the Jets weakness, pass defense. It was a good strategy and it paid off.

MarlinTheMagician
Given Jets D-line strength, and lack of time to gel, I think we roll with our line for a bit. Feliciano a week closer.

Bob in STL
I don’t think either side of the line was very good. This felt like 4 preseason games rolled into 1. Correct timIng at game speed will improve and they will get better.

I think maybe they knew they were going to throw 40-45 times. The Jets have excellent run D and their DB are bad or hurt. They just figured we’ll beat them constantly with the short pass game and a bunch of screens. That said, I agree with you that Smith will likely be active next week. But not from the fact they always wanted to sit him but realized he was sadly missed, but rather next week against the Dolphins they will have a more balanced game plan and this was always the plan. Ethan in Cleveland
Why is everyone convinced Ford is the best option at RG? Williams struggled at RT. I do understand the continuity argument and that is fair. But then what happens if and when Feliciano comes back? Do they stick with Ford at RG? Figuring out if Ford is the answer at RT in the next several games will help them for years to come. Much easier to find an interior lineman than a capable OT. I see little downside to bringing up Winters and Lee Smith next week and sitting Gilliam and Williams.
