Seriously what’s the return on investment been so far? This is the worst free agent signing in the history of the Buffalo Bills era. It's a generally considered a bad investment. Von Miller is a bust. Edited October 16, 2023 by Toyo321 1 1
DapperCam
I saw him have one okay rush where he beat the tackle and forced Tyrod to make an early throw. Not close enough to count as a QB pressure though.

Eastport bills
He can’t turn the corner. The tackle just guides him beyond the QB and he can’t get close. Work in progress.
Charles Romes
Thought he was quicker this week, but is afraid (perhaps correctly) that his knee will explode if he turns the corner after getting past the tackle.
BillMafia716ix
I watched him on that NYG last drive. He’s got a good burst coming off the edge. But he’s a lil hesitant when he tried to do stunt moves where he wraps around the DT. He’s getting there. Not all the way 100% yet.

BullBuchanan
He looks worse than useless out there. He's a liability. They should have given him the full 21 days to recover and he should be inactive until he can be productive. Right now AJ Epenesa is a far superior player that shouldn't be taken off the field to give Von reps unless it's garbage time.

Getting Von ramped up before we get to the toughest part of the season/playoffs is the main goal. He's clearly DE4, maybe even DE5 right now. But he's not going to improve just sitting around. They need to play him and it is what it is. Hopefully it pays off in November/December and beyond.

I'm not saying he should sit around, but he could be doing the same thing he's doing in games at the field house when there isn't a game on the line. He's in a really bad spot right now and needs to re-learn how to move laterally. All he can do right now is run in a straight line, and someone with that skillset shouldn't be active on game days.
MikePJ76
he looked pretty average. It seems with every rush he just allowed the tackle to walk him up the field behind the quarterback. It was like he had no ability to run past a tackle last night except on one play where taylor was moving immediately to his left in the pocket. These were the two worst offensive tackles this team will play all season so this was a real bummer watching it live. Hopefully I am wrong. Still needs to get his legs back under him and trust his knee. It will be a little bit.

He seemed to get off the ball quickly, get by his man, then kind of give up and jog once Taylor moved up in the pocket. It was odd to see him just quit like that. That's not the kind of player he is. Something is definitely wrong. On the other hand, Epenesa was everywhere second game in a row. Something has changed with him. He's an animal now. Yeah I see it the same way, hoping it’s conditioning while ramping up and in a couple weeks Von will be chasing down QBs from the backside instead of pulling up. As for AJ, I never seen this jump coming and he’s looking like a legit starter not just a rotational piece.
DKBills25
I feel he is slowly getting back to it his jump off the ball is great he just doesn’t look as mobile after the jump like before but I feel he with time will get back to all pro Von
Da webster guy
I still think bringing him back for the Jacksonville game cost us a very important roster spot that hurt us pretty badly. He hasn't impacted anything, lets face it, he's very old for that position. He was drafted with AJ Green, JJ Watt, Dareus, Julio Jones, Aaron Williams etc I don't think anyone from that draft class is still competing at a high level and Von is no exception. Beaner went all in to get a superbowl and squeeze one last season out of Von but the guy just has too many miles on him. Can still be a great leader, motivator, and maybe get home on a few 3rd down rushes this year but I don't expect much production

If it were Von of last year, Taylor would get planted into the turf. 1
EmotionallyUnstable
Again: the future HOFer gets the benefit of the doubt from me. He is (hopefully) not to his true state. While he heals, he should be playing a rotational role behind Floyd AJE and Groot. That contract is, and was always, going to be a killer unless we make it to the promised land. 11 hours ago, LabattBlue said: I am putting the cart before the horse, but if he shows very little the rest of the year, I cut him in the offseason, and take the dead cap hit. As far as the present, WTF are the coaches thinking not only activating him, but putting him on the field. He is beyond useless right now. 32 mil guaranteed still after this season…you could designate a post June 1 cut and spread it out down the line…Beane has already stretched the cap down the line about as far as he can go. They’re going to have to eat most of it. Youre much more likely to see it AFTER next season (15 mil dead remaining) which they could spread out and wouldn’t be such a burden in future years.

My point is that he couldn't even beat Alec Anderson right now. This version of Von Miller is not even an NFL talent. He's being abused by bottom tier tackles. We may need to accept that like Tre White, he'll never return to form. This injury at his age is often a career ender.

He had no offseason program, no training camp or preseason. Do people really expect Von to be in mid-season form right away. He shouldn't have been activated if he wasn't ready. He most likely won't have an impact this year. Look at Tre last year. Von looks similar. There was a time or two where he would dip under the tackle and have him beat but then would kind of stand there looking at the QB before slowly jogging towards him. CSBill
That was a mistake if Von was playing ahead of or taking reps away from Kingsley Jonathan in that second half. Jonathan brings juice and he should be working in more, not less. Let him develop. He brings a hustle that is needed.
zow2
From what I saw in the Giants game, Von is taking up a valuable roster spot from a healthy player. Let him build up his strength and trust in the knee during practice not games.
strive_for_five_guy
For everyone saying Von is washed up, I hope he makes you all eat crow. He’s two games back from an ACL injury, one of which his reps were limited and the other against a fairly mobile QB. His ACL was torn just last Thanksgiving, and he’s already on the field. If he’s still in the sideline recovering, folks would be complaining that he’s sitting on his big pile of money. Give the guy a few more games before the indictments are served. 1 1
