below
He's a 7th round pick playing #1 CB on a defense decimated by injuries.. What do you expect? Can't have a stud at every position. That's the reality for every NFL team.

Perfect position and hand right by the ball. Just a great throw. The Lions receivers are good, and the Bills left their corners on islands more today. I’d love to know what technique they teach to PBI while in phase. Dane can’t make a play on the ball, but can he at least hammer an arm or something? His announcing has been like his playing career…….inconsistent and all over the place. Romo's not bad but definitely gets too much credit. I think it stems from his initial year where he was calling plays before they happened and everyone gushed over him. Since then he's gone downhill a bit
Bleeding Bills Blue
Wasn't this a 0 blitz? That's sort of a tough throw to ask of Goff since he probably isn't stepping up into it.

A couple weeks ago he was allowing so thing like 48% completion rate, a 50 passer rating, and 1 TD. I am just sort of baffled as to WTF is going on with him two weeks in a row. He’s getting abused out there. At his current rate he needs to be replaced. But I’m really hoping he finds his game again. He’s not the only one though. It just feels like so many players on the team have lost their mojo. This team feels like the movie “Rookie of the Year”. We are just at the point where the kids arm goes back to normal. BillsFan130
Dane Jackson was bad, but another guy who has been playing rough the last few weeks is Taron Johnson. He is a highly paid Nickel corner and he needs to be playing a lot better

Jackson hasn't been playing well but with the injuries to the defense it's not unexpected. I feel like both Dane Jackson and Tyron Johnson are struggling with a primary role in coverage. Both have underwhelmed. Buffalo going more 4-3 is not only scheme but production based decision. Once White is on a regular snap count I expect Jackson splits his snaps. Good news is he’s a fantastic depth guy, not the long term answer at CB. Benford and Elam are learning on the job. Both I think will be good to very good corners under McD. However, right now and likely for the playoffs they are not a strength of the team. Jackson is a whole different story. The guy is a fantastic nickel guy and situational back. He makes big plays and knows the system well. However, he is not a starter and he's clearly showing us that. I do believe he can be an asset in the playoffs when used effectively. A couple teams have 1a and 1b receivers like Miami and Minnesota. Most don’t. KC doesn’t unless you consider Kelce a wr. Will Dane ever be Sauce Gardner? Nope… not a chance. When you add in the experience he is getting subbing for Tre, he might just be one of the better #2 guys once the pressure is off, (assuming Tre gets back to 100%). Add in Elam & Benford next season and beyond, and you have the makings of a top corner corps.

Benford and Elam are more of a liability this season vs a strength due to inexperience and learning the professional game. Dane is getting tourched as a starter. Very good situational back who makes big plays. He's limited due to his physical limitations.
wakingfane
What I have seen is... Teams are not often throwing the type of passes our cornerbacks are good at defending (simple square ins and outs, short slants, deep square ins, come backers). They are challenging downfield or on double moves that get the defenders to turn their back to the quarterback or sideline, running towards holes in the coverage. And the line hasn't been getting as much quick pressure to beat these longer developing plays.

WhitewalkerInPhilly
He is actually often in good position. The problem is that he doesn't have the athleticism, instincts, or ball skills to fight for the ball. That's not glaring as a #2 or 3,but against elite talent?
