Especially rookies. The only thing to actually consider when he gets beat is can he have a short memory and move on to the next play?

The stuff that is sprouting about wanting Breece hall over Elam to me is just insane I don’t care how good hall ever becomes and less he is a top five running back in the league it will never amount to the same as having an elite corner
strive_for_five_guy
One funny part about this thread is that the subject line and OP’s comments aren’t even one in the same. Subject line asks whether we’re concerned about Elam (after his first game), OP then comments on us having been able to select a backfield starter at that spot in the draft. Elam could become all-pro, alleviating any concerns about his abilities as a CB, and some are still going to argue that we should have taken an all-pro RB instead. The debate on the latter may never end, and the subject line isn’t even aligned with that debate.
HopelessNJBuffaloFan
He is what the Bills expected to be. He is doing his job even though he was kinda nudged in the fire a bit earlier then expected. He is going to be good in this league!

947
The difference between Elam & Dane is that Elam looks to break up the pass, while Dane concedes & just starts tackling the receiver around the legs while he's catching the ball. NI Bills Fan
Anyone know what Elam's injury was at the end when he was on the ground getting treatment? I had no audio at the time so wasn't sure. Could have been just cramp as he didn't seem to distressed. He played well today. Deserves to start across from White from here on in. Looked like a cramp and nobody asked McD about it postgame even when talking about Elam so I'm guessing nothing serious. He also said Jackson could have probably returned and was told that by Head Trainer Nate but left Elam in there Edited January 16, 2023 by Big Turk 1

DCofNC
Loved seeing Elam man up Hill. He actually chucked him at the line without a 8 yard cushion, exactly what they needed to do. He needs to be on Chase too. He’s going to get lit up once in a while, but at least he has a fighters chance against a WR w speed. 2
Luka
I wasn't worried when we drafted him and I'm definitely not now watching him mature into an NFL player. He is seriously the best corner on this team right now. He's 2nd on the team in interceptions, made huge plays in coverage. He shut Tyreek down I think as best as anyone has this year. He's big, physical and capable of man to man coverage and as Shaq said in his presser, he's clearly been studying and working. When Tre is 100% again next year, we will have the best duo in the NFL. 3 1

Tre has advanced into the "wily veteran" stage of his career. Plenty of value on the field but no longer a guy who puts WRs on an island.
