Good signing. Tough to find a better gunner out there. I would also be willing to bet his cap hit is nowhere near the 3.6MM. Guessing the 10.9MM maximum value also includes all of the not likely to be earned incentives

Correct. Usually when the maximum value gets reported, it’s the agent getting the news out there ahead of time. Makes them look good.

Another contract overpaying a special teamer. When will we learn????? Matakevich better be GONE after this ridiculous news

He's not just a special teamer. He played 140 snaps on defense last year.

For comparison, Matakevich played 40.

They also play completely different positions on ST and Defense...

Seems like a good deal on many fronts:

1.  Keep a top special teams performer on the team

2. Keep a great athlete and contributor on defense (who may contribute more in the coming years, as the Bills are thin at DB)

3. Keep one of "your own" - which sends a positive message to other free agents

4. Pay what appears to be a reasonable salary, in NFL terms

Puke. Another overpay for a guy that plays mostly special teams. Any UDFA can do what he does. He is a decent player that can get a contract like that when you don't have superstars to pay. Beane is not evolving.

Thank you. He is not good depth at all. He gets cooked whenever he plays defense

Two big points- we don't know the actual value of contract so it might not be an overpay and second how do you want Beane to evolve? We have an elite team and are one of the favorites for the Super Bowl next year.

Hopefully the incentives are based on his play on defense, number of snaps etc, because $11M would be a lot for a ST player.

Same here. Sounds like a lot of money on the first glance. Let's see how it is constructed. Anyway, I have no reason not to believe Beane on this one. Let's judge when we see exact terms and when FA is over.

Highest paid special teams player in the league? He's not Steve Tasker. I'm all for signing your own, but not to do it just to do it. Hopefully this is heavily incentive based contract. I hope this doesn't turn into another Butler, Murphy, Star contract.

Didn't he have like 3 guys blocking him in that first Chiefs game?

A contract like what?  You have no idea what the contract entails except 3 years and the max amount after incentives..….and you’re going to compare it to something?  Cmon Dr.  Do better
