harryS
This will be a replay of last year's Super Bowl where a D-line dominating an O-line is the story of the game.'' It'll be a good results for the Bills as it will encourage McBeane to make aggressive moves to bring high-end talent onto the team to support Allen. The McVay/Snead era for the Rams and the McDermott/Beane era for the Bills both started in 2017. Both regimes have been highly successful but the Rams are going to be the one who's been to 2 Super Bowls, winning 1. This, despite the Bills having the better QB. Hopefully McBeane will think about that a little bit and take some lessons from the Rams.

The Rams have the best special teams in the league by DVOA, so it's not like their strategy has cost them depth or on the margins. At least not yet. They are still a well-rounded team despite having elite talent in many places and despite given up many assets to acquire that elite talent.

I just can’t see the rams avoiding years of irrelevance after this potential Superbowl win so I guess it’s the philosophical question of do you mortgage your whole future to win 1 superbowl. Why compare us to the Rams over a 5 years period! Look at what the Bengals have done in 2.

They really had no business making the SB - credit to them for doing it, but they needed a bunch of breaks along the way (which shows how hard it is to get there), including KC basically melting down from the end of the 1st half through the remainder of the game. I don't think it will serve Cincy too well, though they'll have a SB appearance where we don't. But I think the chances are good that the Rams win pretty decisively next week.

If over a a 10-15 year period, the Rams still have achieved more, despite the Bills having the better QB, we'd have to conclude that they had the superior strategy. 3 hours ago, Nextmanup said: How about the Bengals appearing in a Super Bowl 2 years after picking their QB in the draft?! Bengals feel like they just had a fluky run to make it this season (even though their future is bright with Burrow). Also, when you draft overall #1 to land your franchise QB, it's hard to give the organization too much credit. For example, I think the Bills deserve much more credit for drafting Allen because there were so many question marks and naysayers about him. With the Jackson back I could see Ravens and Bengals. The Steelers are always a popular choice for primetime given their national following. It will depend on their offseason and who they get to replace Ben. Then there is the battle of Ohio but Mayfield is meh. Unless of course the league doesn't want a divisional matchup to open with. Thinking fans are going to want to see the "what if the Bills had won the toss" game. Except it'll be in Cincy. Josh Allen is a pretty good draw for TV next season. IF the Bengals win. I'm going Aaron Donald as MVP and the Rams for the win.

FilthyBeast
My gut feeling tells me the Bengals will win and the next Mahomes/Brady is born in the eyes of the media anyway. In fact there are certainly a lot of parallels to be made since Brady won his first SB in his 2nd NFL season even though he was essentially a rookie/1st year starter in 2001.

If the Bengals lose, Mike Brown’s refusal to build a indoor practice facility or even a bubble will play no small part in it. It poured yesterday and now we’re in an ice storm with snow to follow. The Cincinnati Bengals can’t effectively practice on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the week before the Super Bowl.
