He had a nice final year with the Bills. What went wrong since?

They asked him what he remembered about the Bills offense & he couldn't remember anything so they said you uno good to us & let him go ...

Only plausible explanation is that the unethical Jets wanted to get inside info on the Bills defense and our man Shaq said no!!

I think the Jets are beyond that sort of thing, realizing it's not going to help anyway.

Bills offered him an extension, he chose to go to Miami for slightly more money. Played one year for them, then they traded him to Houston and then from there he was traded to the Jets. Seems like he’s just been bounced around a bunch and hasn’t gotten his footing anywhere he’s landed. He was pretty solid his final year here in Buffalo. Good against the run, which they could use, and he was coming along as a locker room leader.

Beane, get 'er done!

We still have some needs at DE with some holes to fill. He had production with this staff. I’m actually strongly in favor of bringing him in next season for vet minimum.

He was a baffling pick by the Bills. The Bills selected him way too high in the draft and then asked him to do something he didn't show skill at while at Clemson - getting to/sacking the QB. The shoulder was a problem at Clemson too...and well, it remained a problem.

He did not project to DE or LB nicely but probably could have developed as a linebacker if that was the intention from draft day.

Agreed.

Being a specialist in setting the edge is also not really a thing.

Doubt anyone would claim because they pick up contract; sign for min for playoffs and chance to make team next year.

Because Lawson is being jettisoned after the trade deadline, he will head to waivers.

Should Lawson be claimed, he will not be eligible to play in the playoffs. If no team claims him, however, the sixth-year pass rusher could still play for another team in the postseason as a free agent signing.

If he is claimed it is post trade deadline and if he has passed COVID test however I doubt he will be.
