New England has run 17 plays to the Cowboys 54 and yet somehow has the lead…if the Cowboys clean things up this game is 31-14 to end it

cowboys can’t get into the endzone from the 1.  NE is playing very well

It actually has been a pretty boring day of football. But watching on the Golf Course made up for it.

Mayfield definitely did not regress last year as he was good.

This year he has regressed, although it's hard to say how much that has to do with his shoulder injury

He has regressed every year. Thank god for that Running game otherwise they would be the same ole losing browns.

Isn’t it possible to play other playoff teams in the regular season? Is it possible that a regular season game be played against a team with a really good defense and a bad offense thus preventing them from making playoffs?

Pocket passer or not I’d have taken a QB that wins almost 75% of the time during the Bills abysmal 20 year drought. How about you? Or is this just about bashing Lamar Jackson?

Lamar was not winning 75% of the time here in Buffalo.  It works in Baltimore because they have the perfect OC and really built around his ability.

Is it possible to play other playoff teams in the regular season.  Yes, yes it is.  Likely most teams don't play that many over the regular season.  2 or 3? 4 at best? Baltimore is usually one of those defenses.  Again, it has nothing to do with whether or not Lamar is a very good pocket passer.  He is a very good player.  I just don't think he is all that as a passer.

My original comment was there aren't too many QBs that cant make most of those throws. He has a simple passing design offense.  It is highly helped by the fact that most defenses cant defend against him running the ball.  He doesn't have to make many reads.  Andrews and Brown have 2 to 4 yard cushions most of the time they catch the ball.  Most of those throws are between the numbers  within 10 yards of the LOS.  Go ahead debate it with something else other than record.

Today he was 19/27. 10 of those completions were in the middle of the field. 6 of those completions were less than 10 yards. Another less than 15.  He also had 2 ints there. 5 more completions were at or behind the LoS. 3 more of those completions were 5-10 yards.  That leaves 1 completion.  Middle of the field for 20 yards.  Last week the area of the field remained the same.  He just had more completions.  It is literally his MO.  Throw to the open guy in the middle of the field.  If the guy isn't there then either buy a little time and still throw practically straight in front of you to a wide open guy or take off running.  That is what he has done every year and its no different this year.  Sure he might have a game here and there that he throws to the numbers instead.  There is nothing special about his throwing the football.  There just isn't.

I really don't think so. Next year maybe, but they won't win 8 games.

Everyone is underestimating Belichick on that one, imo.  The Pats aren't as talented as other WC contenders - but teams always beat themselves against BB.  It's really hard to watch.
