Time to hate PFF again...Allen #40, Diggs #45...

What's going to be interesting is as Josh gets older and his athletic abilities start to decline (as to when he's just a great athlete for the position and not a FREAK athlete), how his game evolves.  He's worked a ton on being able to read defenses and become a smart passer, and an excellent leader, so I think it's quite possible that his stats never again approach 2020 levels (especially in rushing), but he continues to be a top 5 QB.

I certainly don't think he peaked in 2020.   Not close.

I agree, he will have some decline physically, but all that really means is that he won't run as much.  He'll become a 200-yard rushing guy, like more or less all QBs.

But it takes longer than three years for QBs to become expert at the mental game.   It takes five or six years for QBs to get into their prime, mentally.   Allen is still growing mentally - he isn't close to done.   Assuming he continues to improve, his mental development will overcome any physical decline.  Peyton was much better in his final years in Indy, even though he'd become more or less immobile.

Allen is great slipping tackles in the pocket, a lot like Big Ben.   Allen's go great size.   He's going to be outstanding from the pocket in a few years.

That’s not remotely true. PFF has Josh Allen’s overall 2020 grade at 90.3 and Lamar Jackson’s at 79.3.

That's an actual grade. Opinion wise they love Lamar. They did however have Allen 6th and Lamar 8th in their 2021 QB rankings.

Nonsense like this is why Pfft is on my ignore list, it’s truly amazing that anyone would find value in the c rap they spew.

Most people will be wrong.  His decision making, confidence, and leadership will only grow.  PFF are still clinging to their (last) hope that Josh's 2020 was an anomaly.

Yeah I don't really understand the assumption that Josh will trail off a bit. There are people who say that he has the most raw talent of any quarterback EVER. So sure, he finished second in MVP voting and it's hard to see him getting better, but every offseason he says he's going to work on something, be it deep passes, reading defenses, etc. And every single year there is a massive improvement for him in that department. This time it's inbreaking routes, which would give the offence another dimension, and kinda squash any notions of stopping the offense by watching a ton of film.

I just think Allen is going to get to a point where he simply doesn't have weaknesses.

Let's focus on what PFF did get right for some positivity. Anyone could have made a mistake and included graphics of bison but PFF used the Buffalo native African water buffalo. At least they do their research, even if sometimes it seems a bit wonky.

Why do people still give them any attention. Smh

Not that I care that much, but didn’t get to scan a link.  I’ll trust you guys.  I’ve never once been on the PFF info. Other than when you guys send links.

If anyone wants to send great.  Not

really that worried as they constantly send tainted lists.  Who really cares what they write when so far off on Allen, Diggs, and I’m guessing White wasn’t referenced so not in top 50.

Most people here expect a regression. Not a huge one. They still have him top 7 for QB's.

I spit my cola out of my mouth when I read this. Most people here expect regression? then.. They still have him top 7 QB?

you are joking right?

He is top 3 QB at worst in the league and..

ID like a "heck yea" thumbs up from all you who think he wont regress this year... In fact... I am going to put a open poll on this topic right now... I want to see how many "people" here think he will regress..

So the Titans have 2 WRs ranked ahead of Diggs...

And then Mike Thomas and Allen Robinson.

So that puts Diggs no higher than #5 with, I’m assuming at the very least, Hopkins, Hill, and Adams still to be mentioned.

So PFF thinks Diggs is barely a top 10 wr…. I think everyone other than  @Buffalo_Stampedecan agree that any ranking of Diggs outside the top 3-5 wr’s is just downright comical.

PFF's rating is based on a Pole who told them he thinks Josh will regress.

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pff50-ranking-50-best-players-nfl-2021

40. QB JOSH ALLEN, BUFFALO BILLS

Allen was spectacular in 2020, but it was such a giant leap forward from his previous baseline — his overall PFF grade jumped from the mid-60s to 90.9 last year — that the smart analysis is to expect some degree of regression, given what we know about player development at this level.

It was certainly a breakout season, but players rarely maintain a development curve with a trajectory to the moon year over year. Allen’s most impressive improvement came in terms of accuracy, where he went from a player with an adjusted completion rate dead last as a rookie to ranking fifth in the league in 2020.

I’m not sure why PFF is even looked at. They ‘employ over 600 full or part time people’ to review film and then grade. It’s 100% objective trash. The grades they offer can credibly be ignored.

Anyone who has played sports at any level grasps intangibles. Without factoring those in and all other human traits, it’s is a fools errand. Simply grasp what PFF is or do what I do: ignore it as it’s silly trash…Collinsworth backing or not.
