Week 16: Bills at Patriots***(*), 4:30 pm on NFLN, Second half thread

Recommended Posts

For those asking about the 10 second run off it is the time it would take for the Bills to run down the field. Had that been called down at the 1 originally as it should have been and not a TD then the Bills would have immediately called timeout. They shouldn't get the advantage of the fact the clock stops because the play was wrongly called a TD.

Shouldn't have been overturned slid across goalline as contact started... they were tying so hard to stop us from tying

True but Harry reached for the 1st down and it wasn't overturned so two wrongs even things out I guess.  Well, besides the two obvious potential groundings and the BS spot on that Michel run.

Because the league decided to replay it after it was called a TD. Normally the TD would stop the clock but being stopped short wouldn't so they do a 10 second run off as a 'penalty' for stopping the clock when it shouldn't have been stopped

Thank god we had that timeout.

Yes Josh missed 2 throws that were bad but every QB misses.

Keep reminding yourself what BB does to rookie and 2nd year QBs.

The reality is their secondary vs our smurfs is such a gross mismatch.

We need to tighten up on D and keep "Motorin!"

It’s a discretionary call.  Interpret that as you should.

I say it nearly every week. Josh needs to run more. Stop trying to make him a pocket passer. I’ll live with the injury risk and fumble risk

i will say, the long gain on his draw at the end of the half seemed to calm him down. Hit beasley with a great pass immediately after that.

Can we get Allen running more?

I want scrambles when he sees man to man, not designed runs.

Allen needs to calm down. I think he was seeing ghosts much of that 1st half... it really made his footwork noticeably pretty bad.

He needs to improve on his footwork even with a clean pocket. I’m also hoping he just calms down and trust his gifts.

what a terrible rule

I don't think so really.  If the play was never called a TD the clock would have continued to run because Knox was tackled in the field of play.  By the time the ball was spotted and half the offense ran down the field and lined up... probably more than 10 secs would have run off.... or they take their timeout there anyhow.  I think the rule is fair.
