He should have been ejected and at minimum fined. Wrong. Garrett's reaction is what led to the brawl. What Rudolph did in reaction to Garrett's late his is a common post-scuffle 15 yard penalty, fine at most. Garrett is the one who escalated the situation. If that was Allen, he would have kicked Garrett’s ass. 1

Miyagi-Do Karate
I can't believe I am going to say this, but the NFL handled this perfectly, including from a timing perspective. Very shrewdly left it open-ended-- re-visit in off-season when cooler heads prevail.

Nothing wrong with the tackle at all. If it hadn’t been for the helmet swing Rudolph would have been the one way more in the wrong. A travesty that he gets off without punishment. A travesty? Seriously? I do not think that word means what you think it means...

Pouncy's is way too long. 1 game is likely what happens here, esp. with current and former players agreeing with his actions, although the kicking the head, I'm fine with 3 games. But I see it getting reduced to 1. The guy who shoved Rudolph after Garrett assaulted Rudolph should have received 3 games. He blindside shoved him. Rudolph was not even engaged with him or anyone at that point. Pouncey has a history with the league and is too eager to turn anything into a melee. He and his brother rolled around with Hernandez in Florida. There's more to his suspension than just last night.

Coach Tuesday
Tomlin should be fined for calling a screen pass with 8 seconds left down two scores. He was asking for trouble and I don't understand why coaches do that stuff.

I’m sure as hell not and I think we all know Josh wouldn’t lay there and take it...especially from dirty play Garrett, who can’t seem to control himself this year. Yes I would be okay with it because it was not at all a dirty hit or tackle. I would have been okay if it had been Jim Kelly back in the day. And if either would have reacted like Rudolph did they would have been acting like crybabies just like Rudolph did. Again, does not justify getting hit in the head with a helmet but it doesn't mean Rudolph's reaction was justified.

Augie
DeCastro had the sense to just move Garrett away and lay on top of him. De-escalate the situation. I want my team to defend each other, but not the way Pouncy did coming in swinging and kicking Garrett in the head while he’s already pinned on the ground. Garrett? He’s just a nut job! This wasn’t his first incident. But maybe it should he his last......at least for a long, looooong time. Rudolph got butt hurt over the way Garrett took him to the ground, then had a hissy-fit and started attacking Garrett by yanking on his helmet numerous times, which led to Garrett getting up and doing the same thing back to him. Garrett had two Steelers players in his face with Rudolph continuing to charge at Garrett. I'm not a fan of either team, but after watching the scenario play out, Rudolph started the confrontation, wouldn't give it up, Garrett was getting ganged up on by two Steelers players, then did a very stupid, inexcusable act of nailing Rudolph in the head with Rudolph's helmet, by which he deserved the beating he got from Pouncey and Ogunjobi. Garrett deserves a lengthy suspension, big fine and should have criminal charges brought against him, but Rudolph shouldn't get away "Scott-free" either. Big Turk
Honestly some of this is on Tomlin. The game is over, you are backed up deep in your own territory, you can't win and there are 8 seconds left. Why are you running a play? Just kneel the ball down and get out of there. Why are you risking injury to your players needlessly? Edited November 15, 2019 by matter2003
