Is Von Miller toast?

He is 3 weeks post comeback and there is very little bend to his rush, much slower get-off (you can tell he is trying to jump the snap to get the edge), and I have yet to see him win a single match-up.

He simply looks bad.

Last time he came back from an ICL injury he was younger, but he had 9 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 TFL in his first 3 games back.

Do we feel Von is toast? His dead cap is $32.5M so he is not going anywhere.

He's done.

No, he's lazy

I completely understand your point, but consider this:

The last time he came back from an ACL tear it was only 9 months between his injury date and his first game back.

In his first three games back he had 9 tackles, 2 sacks and 2 TFL.

Of course, he was younger. But that’s kinda the point - father time catches up to everyone.

Might go down as one of the worst signings in Bills history.

Hey the should of thought about the injury risk for a 34 ur old end

Yup. I really respect what Von has done in his career, but we paid an aging DE who doesn't care about containing the edge like he was in the prime of his career.

I don't even remember seeing the guy on the field. How many snaps did he even have?

It's going to take some time for him to get back into playing shape. It's going to take even longer when he's barely even getting warmed up on the field.

I get wanting to keep him fresh for the Playoffs. But if things keep going the way they're going, that's far from a given.

He might be toast, but the Bills and us fans are suffering from PRIME RIB STEAK FAILURE.  Not suprising signing a 32 year old to more money than you pay the whole WR corps outside of Diggs only to get injured ( OH he got injured as an old player?)  Shocker!  Dawson Knox had done more for Dawson's landing than he had in the NFL before signing that massive contract.  Btw I have no ***** idea what Dawson's landing or any of that bs here

You think this team is going to the playoffs?!🤣  If so, please list out the specific 6 or 7 wins you see on the remaining schedule.

Hey ..I didn’t say the Bills were gunna make the playoffs … just that he would be back to his best by then… just in time to get the most out of his January holiday …

My position's been unchanged since we signed him.

My money says that he's finished as anything but JAG.

But for the money he's getting, there's absolutely no way we get that level of play from him.

I can agree with that.  That being said I wanted Chandler Jones and he’s currently roaming the desert in a tin foil hat.  I’ve never been a big Von fan.  Mainly because of his constant reminder about how he loved LA and it seemed like he came here in some ways to cash a check and grow his podcast but he won me over a little last year.  Prior to the injury the guy could play.  I think he still has something left in the tank as a specialist but you don’t pay a specialist his type of money.

I think the point is…..do it in the playoffs where it’s critical and you are closer to 100%.

But that is a hope, and only time will tell.

White looked pretty bad last year and he sat out a full year.  Likely not going to get much out of Miller this year till maybe very late or in playoffs assuming the Bills get that far.  This is also the 2nd time for Miller and older.  Way too early to say he's toast, but right now, he's not effective much at all.

To me he looks like a guy who's missed almost a full year of football, I think he's going to take time which unfortunately is time we don't have but looks like the reality.

The guy is 34 coming off an ACL with no camp or preseason.  Getting back to running and cutting itself is one thing, but getting back into football shape is completely different.  I wouldn't expect his snap count to increase dramatically on a short week here, but my guess is that after the simi-bye this Thursday is that his snap count starts to rise.  He hasn't shown a ton of pass rush moves with the snaps he's had.....mostly rushing wide.  But he's still ramping up.  Also, it is so hard to get into any type of flow when you are only playing certain snaps periodically.  Von has always been a rusher where he uses a few rushes in a row to set up other moves.  If he's not playing consistently, he can't do that.

Bottom line, it's early for him yet.  It is still going to take a bit of time to get in football shape and get the body used to the punishment it takes.  We all want him to be the Von we know he can be and I get having patience is hard.

LOL @ the Chandler Jones reference.

I'm not a fan of expensive signings of players that are near or at the tail end of their careers, such that the signing has to have every upside of it to materialize in order for it to be considered a good signing.

With better planning and team management that should easily be capable of being avoided.

I am not sure if I can think of a worse signing in terms of handcuffing the team from making other moves.   Von Miller's contract plays into them not being able to sign Hopkins.

Miller is slow, Poyer is slow (had a great game today but on the season he has been down a few steps from the past 1-2 years. Hyde is still ok but again not MVP hyde we had.

I was hyed about Von but also know it was really a 2 year with a hope for the 3rd year production and its just a bad deal now. Hopkins is invisible for the Titians so I don't look at him like it was the only reason we didn't.
