Elliott to New England (Rumor)

AFC contender? I guess all 16 AFC teams are contenders at this point. It’s like referring to an actor, show or book as “award eligible”. I’m going to start reffering to all coaches, FO personnel and players this way, i.e. MVP candidate Zach Wilson. It’ll be a hoot.

Don’t know what Zeke has left in the tank at this point, but he still should be serviceable rotational back for NE or another team.

I don't get him going there.  No pass game to take pressure off him.  Seems a place like the Chargers would be a better destination if he wants to set himself up for another contract.  But this work for me.

Also, agree with @BarleyNY, odd the article refers to NE as a "contender," although, it's what made me click on it.

This makes zero sense for the Pats to do. They have 3 young RB, 1 who is a proven while the other 2 showed flashes last year.  Why spend 5 million on someone just keep them from seeing how good the kids are.

I don't think he's better than their current top four running backs.

He hasn't cracked 1,002 yards rushing since 2019.

I'd rather play Stevenson, Strong, Harris, or Montgomery over Zeke at this point, but maybe that's just me.

This “rumour” is based on a CBS story of Cody Benjamin “ playing matchmaker” for free agent running backs…

He isn’t even trottting out “ unnamed sources”… just making stuff up for a story…

I mean it was 2021 but you’re in the ballpark of correct things.

We have a casino here in the Sacramento area that has billboards claiming ‘Voted the Best Casino’ but no details.  Nothing referencing a publication or website.  Nothing like ‘in Sacramento area’, just Voted Best.

Friendly reminder that the Patriots over/under win total this year is 7.5 and they are the worst team in the division.

They could sign any non-QB and that won’t change, much less a washed up backup RB.

That backup had more rushing yards last year than any primary Bills RB has had in 5 years.

Is it just me or is Zeke kind of washed?

He ain’t done but he doesn’t have the pop or burst anymore

he’s literally a solid 4 yards a whack and fall forward every time which is valuable … doesn’t fumble.. valuable

just won’t hit even 40 yarders anymore

876 yards! Wow! Incredible!

Here's a fun stat. Zeke averaged 3.8 yards per carry last year, which more than half a yard worse than Devin Singletary any year the past 4 years in a row.

Devin Singletary is an underrated back and on a team with good line and scheme he would be a weapon but unfortunately that is not the Texans.

22nd in the league, plus 12 TDs (tied for 4th among RBs, 5th among all players)---as you point out, a backup.

After 4 years of mediocrity, Singletary was dumped.

You're struggling to make a cogent point here.
