Hmmm I would imagine they are looking to add picks for next year. This roster on defense is going to change a lot next year so the more picks the better.  the other option here is they want more 7th's if that is what they got so that they can draft guys there instead of having to bid on them and fight for them as priority free agents when the draft ends.
