I just want to say, this is one of the best thread OP posts I've ever seen here. Updates, bold headlines, citations and links to other threads. Bravo, sir. A+ in Interneting today.

YE OLE concurs… top marks all the way around. If you are going to put on one of these shindigs, this is the blueprint.

Yup, and a mediocre one. He's not going to be able to effectively be a DC and an HC, when he hasn't even been a competent gameday HC. very few coaches can pull that feat off.

McDermott was not a mediocre, defensive coordinator, no matter how many times you say that it will not speak it into existence

Mediocre coordinators don’t get head coaching jobs

Wondering what we will do at safety.  Given the importance of the position in McDermott's defense, I can't imagine we would go with a rookie or a converted CB (Benford) with no experience at the position.  Based on where we are with the cap, there really is no realistic chance that we bring back Poyer since he will not be signing a contract with a long term due to his age and we have other needs now (i.e., linebacker).

McDermitt isn’t just going to leave that position to chance not being a secondary coach he is not

Are we bringing back Jordan Phillips, or what? When he was healthy the defense played a lot better imo. Same goes for Shaq Lawson.

Or are we hoping the youth can produce this year?

On Jordan - god no. He was great week 1 and awful thereafter.

I would hope so on Shaq. But I imagine they let him test the market and realise there isn't one before he signs another cheap 1 year deal.

In a move one can only describe as "trying to make sure they meet the cap floor."

Day 1 of FA felt kinda slow in terms of signings throughout the league. Hopefully the price starts dropping on some the Bills targets.

Not much movement at all in terms of offensive skill positions which is unusual.  Fantasy fanatics must be bummed.

I expect lots of tears on here before dinner time

I liked the McGovern signing. I expect a few serviceable players to be signed. Nobody sells hope like Buffalo!!! Edmonds was a hit, but now that money cam be used for a few good starters, and that’s what I considered Edmunds, a good player, but not a first round, pay with that kind of pay check. Go Billls and thanks for posting.

I think the Benford issue turns on what happens with Dane Jackson.

Poyer, I suspect, is up in the air.  The bet here is that his market is not what the wife expected, and he (they) will have to compromise on location or money.  I'm interested to see what happens with him today.

Let's have a really good busy day Beane!

-Extend DaQuan Jones
-Trade Ed Oliver

-Sign another quality Guard
-Sign Lavonte David
-Sign Jamaal Williams
-Trade for DeAndre Hopkins

if hopkins for a 5th, ok.

if juedy for a 4th or so, better.

if both for decent package - cool.

poyer is one of the more fasincating players we have seen in the last dozen or so years.  out of control and wreckless as a youngster who found a great bond with Hyde. he settled down some, stopped drinking and became a better man. he and his attention ***** wife seem vastly different and i imagine she stokes his wilder flames and causes disruption to his maturity and zen like growth. i just don't see how they're a good match for each other. she seeks attention for anything she does from a bikini photo shoot where her kids happen to stand next to her to what i imagine is farting in public just to get some attention. poyer just wants to play ball and receive the accolades for his talent.

Beane should pick up a left over RB the day before training camp in my opinion. The RB should have two requirements.
1) Be able to pass block

2) Dont fumble the ball

This fanbase waited two decades to get good. Now they enjoy it by chatting about running back non stop. Hynes was the only bills RB move i hope.

Im a ‘no’ on jamaal whoever.

I’m good either way, I think we will be fine with Cook N’ Hynes and draft a thumper.

I also love Jamaal’s short yardage potential.
