I have no idea if he is happy or unhappy being a Bill, but if we were to trade him before the start of the season, I don't think we are getting much in return (probably a similar return as to what was received for Keenan Allen).

Brandon Beane Addresses Media - NFL Annual Meeting

From these summaries of what Beane said, I would be surprised if we sign another safety (such as Simmons or Blackmon). -
Anyone else feeling pretty good with the Bills?
jahnyc replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Usually an optimist, but we have lost a lot of depth that has not yet been replenished, particularly on the d-line. The draft can't fill all holes and I am not sure about what we have done at safety. I will feel better with a couple of DTs that can play and the addition of a capable DE. -
He is trolling us and I am tired of it. Just because we care about the Bills should not be used against us in such a childish and selfish way. I should know better and just ignore it, but whether or not he stays with the Bills will have a significant impact on what the Bills do in the draft and on the team in general.

Bills Cap Status - $10 under cap 3/28/2024 12pm
jahnyc replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, but given our cap situation this year, isn't this when we really needed it? Our cap situation is better in future years (at least at this point). No idea if the Bills have any real interest in trading Diggs this year, but the extra cap space would at least give them the flexibility to do so. -
Bills Cap Status - $10 under cap 3/28/2024 12pm

I think the Bills will regret not doing a full restructure of Josh's contract. Not sure who made that decision or whether it was due to owner implemented spending constraints, but we are going to need that flexibility. -
CBSsports.com has a story about Diggs' tweets seeming to be about him wanting out of Buffalo, but it is based solely on trying to interpret his tweets. I think the Bills ownership and management definitely would move on without all of the cap considerations. They must be getting tired of this. I know that we are.

Would Diggs be worth much more than Keenan Allen? Chargers received a fourth round pick from the Bears. Don't see us getting a first round pick if Diggs was traded.
-
Couldn't Diggs be traded with a June 1st designation?
-
It is just not the Bills that have been investing a lot of money in their d-line. Look at what the 49ers are doing and all of the activity so far in free agency for DTs and Defensive Ends.
-
If we can only restructure Josh's contract once for this season, then I would be shocked if we signed Armstead or any other significant free agent at this point. The remaining amount that was available for the restructure seems to be the only realistic avenue to make this happen given the other holes that need to be addressed.

I can believe that Pegula has placed cash restrictions on spending this offseason. He has a lot of financial obligations with the new stadium and with the renovations to the KeyBank Center. Could explain why Josh's contract was not fully restructured. If true, really bad time for this given our need for restructures to have cap space to be competitive this season.

Bills 2024 Roster Breakdown (Current status)
jahnyc replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still a lot of holes and very little money available to spend because of the cap. Particularly concerned about the d-line, but a long way to go until the first game is played and many more moves will happen before then. -
A lot of DTs reached agreement with teams during the day yesterday, and with our limited cap space, it may be that Jones was one of the best options remaining in our price range.

Bills Cap Status - $10 under cap 3/28/2024 12pm

Have to believe that there are more restructurings and/or extensions coming so that we have enough cap space to fill out the roster. Hope there are not more releases. -
Bills Cap Status - $10 under cap 3/28/2024 12pm

At this point, to field a competitive team, the Bills will need to restructure Allen and probably others. It is weird that the Allen restructure has not happened yet. Is it possible that they are working on an extension of his current contract? -
The listed weight for Chop Robinson is wrong. It is 254 and not 354. Still has strong measurables.

Bills Cap Status - $10 under cap 3/28/2024 12pm

Even with a restructuring of Josh's contract, will we even have enough cap space to sign bargain basement free agents? Seems that we have a lot of roster spots to fill, particularly on defense, after releases and expiring contracts. Our draft will supply some of the needed players, but we will need significantly more. -
Bills DL.......how many come back to the Bills on 1 year contracts??
jahnyc replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it just will be some fillers and a couple drafted. We will need a new starting DE and DT (and a bunch of reserves since we are losing at least six defensive linemen due to expiring contracts). Miller will share in the snaps with the starting DE opposite Rousseau. Weird that almost all of our d-line from last season will be gone for this season. -

I would have thought that the Bills would try to re-sign Jones, but another poster stated that there has been no reach out by the Bills. -
Don't like this at all. With all of the options available at safety in free agency, one would think we could have done better.
