You would have to think that Rogers and the plan for the Steelers' offense today will be to run the ball and throw short passes with Rogers getting the ball out fast to avoid getting hit with his broken wrist. Rogers already takes very little time to make his throws, but I expect today that he will be even faster. I hope the Bills are prepared for this.

Chiefs and Ravens look diminished as compared to last season (and so do the Bills). Chiefs defense is not as strong and Lamar is clearly struggling. Even Henry has been disappointing.. Clearly, injuries are having a significant impact on the Chiefs, Ravens and Bills. Also have to believe that the more difficult cap situation the Chiefs, Ravens and Bills are experiencing due to the large contracts given to the the QBs (resulting in an inability to sign quality free agents), combined with drafting towards the bottom of the first round, leads to these teams having less talented overall rosters. Maybe not a coincidence that this is all happening in the same year given that JA, Lamar and Mahomes were drafted within one year of each other.

Solomon is a bust and we need a DE who has played DE (i.e., not Sanders). No idea if this means Bosa will be out and needs surgery on his wrist, but a DE was needed whether or not this is the case.

This is exactly the issue. The WR group was bad, and adding Palmer, a third WR at best on the Chargers, was not going to move the needle for a team that needed two quality boundary WRs. All of this was obvious, including that Coleman was not going to develop into something he wasn't in college. A real tragedy given the overall weakness in the AFC this year, including the possibility that the Chiefs and the Ravens don't make the playoffs.

Acho shows how Josh had zero options and the Texans had zero respect for our WRs. No idea whether it is Brady, the WRs or a combination of the two, but it needs to be fixed, and, unfortunately it won't happen during this season. Worried Brady and our WRs are going to get Josh seriously injured.

It is not reasonable to expect that more than one or two of our draft picks will either begin or end up being starters by the end of the season, which means this off season we will need to sign a lot of free agents in the bargain bin section given our cap constraints and significant needs, particularly on defense.

I am not usually pessimistic about the Bills, but I don't see an easy path to improvement for next season. We have a lot of free agents, some of whom we should try to retain (such as McGovern and Edwards), and a lot of older or unproductive players that we probably should not retain (Poyer, Phillips, Rapp, Tre, Milano, Samuel and probably players like Knox (restructure?), Johnson (restructure?), Jones, Ogunjobi, and Bosa (who seems to have hit a wall)). We will have a lot of holes, particularly on defense, and very little in the way of resources to replace these players, let alone find upgrades, with no help coming from our disappointing back-ups who are not starter quality (i.e., Solomon and Carter). Bottom line is that the team is old, slow and lacks top end talent other than Josh and Cook. The Bills don't have a blue chip player on the defense and do not have a starting caliber boundary WR on offense. Not sure how this can get fixed in the near term.

Free agency at the WR position may be a bunch of JAGS, but trades are always a possibility as we saw from last offseason. AJ Brown could be a trade candidate this offseason and there could be others, but there are not a lot of great WR1s in the league in general or, more importantly, that will be available. Unfortunately, we absolutely need a WR1 and arguably another starting outside receiver. I view Palmer as a good WR3, similar to how he was used with the Chargers.

It doesn't seem that the group of WRs from Coleman's year has turned out to be the great, deep group of WRs that was advertised. Even the WRs selected before Keon have been disappointments to some degree. I don't see Keon becoming a quality WR and I would not be surprised if he is not back with the Bills next season. We will need two real boundary WRs next season in addition to all of the other needs that we will have.

Beane is going to continue to get roasted for making no moves at the trading deadline. We had a lot of needs, and trying to fill any of them would have been a boost to a team that is dealing with so many injuries. I understand that landing a WR1 would have been difficult, but acquiring a DT, DE, linebacker or even safety would have moved the needle. After last night's Packers-Eagles game, all I am hearing is how Howie Roseman made the moves at the trading deadline that improved the Eagles' defense to get it back where it needed to be to make another Super Bowl run.

We will have a lot of holes to fill after this season with expiring contracts and cuts that will need to be made, particularly on defense at DE, DT and linebacker.

He seems to be our leading receiver with Shakir. Not having him in the line-up for the next number of games will make the passing game even more suspect.

This season reminds me of the season a couple of years ago when Dorsey was fired mid-season. Bills started off strong and then the offense seemed to get figured out. Same thing with this season, but this time we don't have an assistant coach who could step in for Brady, plus I don't think McD will fire Brady during the season (or probably at all).

I don't think Palmer will be the savior for this WR group. He did not have great success with the Chargers with Herbert at QB and he certainly was no better than the #2 WR (or even #3 WR at times) for the Chargers over the last few years.

It is both the WRs and Brady, but I really don't know how a team that had Super Bowl aspirations could put Coleman out there as their number one wideout. That is such a disservice to Josh and fans of the Bills.

Surprised and disappointed that we could not trade for a DT that would be an upgrade from the former Bills players who were in today to try to fill a roster spot. WR was a tougher position to upgrade at this time, although I was hoping for Shaheed because he also would have helped our special teams return game which has been lackluster with Codrington regressing from last season and being inactive. I am happy that the Chiefs did not get Hall from the Jets. That would have been a significant upgrade for them.

I think we will be more susceptible to runs up the middle since both Oliver and Jones are out of the line-up and our LBs are small, but KC, at least up until today, has not shown that as a strength (and Pacheco is out). Will be interesting to see how they game plan against our defense given our weakness at DT and Safety.

I know we need a true boundary WR, but give me Calais Campbell and a safety, and I will view that as probably the best we can do considering what talent may be available at the trading deadline. I believe Campbell has a relationship with Rousseau and there must be more available safety talent compared to WR talent.

Jags would be crazy to move BJT even with the poor year he is having so far given last year's performance and being on a rookie deal for at least two more years. Jeudy and other WRs in the mix of suggestions for trades may not be available due to their high dead cap cost if traded by the selling team.

Hoping that Beane's answer to our need at WR is not Brandin Cooks.

I could be off on this, but weren't there some character concerns raised with BJT before being drafted? I do not recall anything specifically being identified and I may be misremembering.

Beane can always use the injury excuse as to why he needed to make a move at WR. Hopefully, this will give him enough coverage to be comfortable making a move that is critical for the team.

Sanders and Max need to be quality starters given the draft capital used to draft them. I have a feeling that Sanders will turn out to be average and with Max I have no idea. Some CB draft picks have stepped in immediately but Max does not seem to be that guy (and I know he got injured and missed most of training camp). Wondering if the will be more McKelvin than Winfield. At this point, I will be surprised if Jackson becomes a quality DE. I know that this post is unfair since we are talking about first year players, two of whom have experienced significant injuries, but just an overall feeling having watched numerous cycles of Bills' draft picks and their performances over the years.

There are so few WRs that we would want and even fewer (maybe one (Olave)) that may be available. There is an overall lack of talent in the NFL currently at the boundary WR position. If Olave really becomes available, there will be significant competition to acquire him, and I doubt that we will be the team to offer more for him in terms of draft capital or current players than any other team.
