There are some truly legendary takes in there during the first couple Zappe drives, i.e.

"This Pats team can be dangerous in the PLAYOFFS. I'm talking taking out KC good."

"This team is unstoppable. Stacked at literally every position, especially at QB."

my god. When i lived in Boston the fans were not known for their nuanced opinions for sure but this is next level delusion. Thank you for quoting so I don’t have to visit that pit.

Maybe they because Bears fans when their predictions did not come true.

One day I'm going to dig out some of those threads about Josh's potential after his first and second seasons. I remember arguing with this group of posters who were 100% convinced that it was impossible for Josh to develop into a franchise QB...

The Pats fans and MNF broadcasters were all soooooo breathlessly excited for Belichick to pass Halas on the all time wins list — and against the Bears no less — in front of a fired up home crowd.

Instead, they got wrecked by the Bears, who are basically a JV team, on National TV.

And as if that wasn’t sweet enough, they now also have a really awkward and hilarious QB controversy between two wildly mediocre QBs.

Best. MNF. Ever.

They watch Brady for 20 years and still don’t know what a good QB looks like?

This is some serious BS from the Patriots OFFICIAL website (not some fan-based or third party site hosted by a guy in mom's basement):

https://www.patriots.com/news/game-observations-eight-takeaways-from-the-patriots-disappointing-loss-to-the-be

"On Monday Night Football at Gillette Stadium, New England was shockingly dominated by an inferior Bears team in a 33-14 victory over the heavily favored Patriots."

Inferior??    I've watched NFL football for 50+ years and I've NEVER seen a team's official, club-sanctioned media outlet call an opponent INFERIOR.   Under any circumstances.    Come hell or high water.     Never.

This is without doubt EXHIBIT 1A in why that franchise is despised by so many, in spite of what should be some grudging respect for their accomplishments.   The same way most long-term fans respect the Steelers or 49ers organizations and all their Lombardis.

But not the Pats.   The fish rots from the head and it's a perfect embodiment of what a classless, crass and entitled organization Robert (Mr. Lube) Kraft runs there.

You know, it’s not really worth it.  Most of the morons who called Josh trash have either come clean and acknowledged their error, or they are long gone from this forum.  That’s the thing about message boards — you’re never truly getting a cross sample of what fans are thinking.

And anyway…as they say, the best revenge is living well, and those of us who have been behind Josh from the beginning are living large right now.

Now, on to that game last night…wow, could that have possibly gone any better?

  • Mac Jones benched, future in doubt —
  • Bailey Zappe mediocre/ineffective —
  • Pats*** outclassed and stomped at home by a crappy team on Monday night —
  • Pats*** at the bottom of the AFCE standings after W7 —

Their boards are a glorious place to visit after a game like this.

Such disillusionment.  Such confusion.

I deal with a Patriots fan in a different forum.  Last season he was "getting serious 2001 vibes", and was so excited for the future.

Last night he chimed in after zappe had his drive.  Said he was never so excited for the future, this kid has got it, and he will lead us to the "promise" land.

Lol.

They think Tom bradys are all just sitting out there, waiting for a geriatric belichick to stumble on him and somehow unlock the inner tb12.

Josh’s potential was a culmination of many factors. Josh had the determination, physical attributes, and mental makeup, does Zappe have those? I know Jones doesn’t have the physical attributes.

Watching NE lose plus I won 115$ that quarter. 😁

I drive all over Massachusetts with my job, and I listen to Boston Sports radio (98.5 and 103.7) all day.  Today Boston sports radio is going to be great to listen to!  A few are delusional and have the Pats at 11-5 and 10-6, it's been comical.  Some are big Mac Jones apologists.  Lots of cold ice water this morning.  Im about to tune in LOL

Didn't see that coming. 33 points allowed to that team. It usually takes the Bears 5 games to score 33 points. Watching both quarterback's struggle was enjoyable. Even on the TD pass where the receiver was open it was a poorly thrown ball by Zappo, Zeppee or whatever his name is. If a team has two QB's then they really have none. Hopefully the Pats can rebound this week and take down the Jets. NE is 3-4 so they are already done as far as catching the Bills. While I am not worried about the Jets they are 5-2 and still within striking distance. Would like to see 6-1 and 5-3 next to the Bills and Jets names late Sunday night.

The Mannings, especially Peyton are soooooo much sharper in their analysis and description of the game, than that Clown Car Cowboy & NFL shill on the prime time broadcast.

NO choice for me whatsoever- the Mannings. Like the whole family and Peyton is a ***** genius with those commercials!

Pretty cool to grab a POTUS for the Bears game too!✔️👍

Enjoy.    Patriots post-game call in show:    https://www.patriots.com/audio/live

I actually listened to this last night after the game.  Don't know anything about the hosts, but was surprised how harsh they were on Bellicheat - calling him out continuosly for the ridiculous 'pulling Mac Jones after 3 series and a horrible pick was planned all along'.  Also how Bellicheat no doubt will be all pissed people are going to be asking him about the QB situation - but he made his own bed on that with his ridiculous QB management.  They were like somehow he managed to destroy both QBs confidence in one game lol.

Not too many calls which was a little disappointing - but I enjoyed one guy who went off on the coaches esp Steve Bellicheat - blatant nepotism and an IQ of 17, and another who basically called Patricia a fat POS.  Enjoyable listen :)

They also had some journalist who mentioned that in the building Mac Jones is still firmly considered to be the "franchise QB".  Please let this be true
