But he has certainly carved his niche in the NFL and has proven his worth again and again. I’d take a locker room full of Lee Smith types when it comes to being one of those “glue” guys. Somewhere, there is the audio of him taking Josh aside during a game in his second year (I believe it was the Bengals) and bucking him up after Allen threw an ugly pick that led to a short TD drive by Cinci that tied up the game in the second half and swung the game. You can even hear him talking about it in the mic'd up. This may sound crazy but if Lee was on the team this year my guess is that the Bills would have won at least one more game this year.
