OZBILLS
Love that interview. Love how he sees the snub of JP as a personal insult to his own play because Ed models his game so much on JP. Scott7975
He did get snubbed. A lot of players on this team have. Media darlings get 12 in. I mean that team is fantastic but the league should spread the share around somehow.
RocCityRoller
Another McDerrmott and Beane gem. Didn't realize Phillips was a 2nd round pick. I like that Oliver is standing up for his team mate. I want Buffalo to lock Phillips up. He has filled in very well for Kyle Williams, he is the right DT in this scheme, he is juiced to be on this team and produces. Right fit schematically, right fit culturally, good neighbor (no off field incidents) and produces. Pay the man and set the example for the rest of the FAs and young guys that buy in and production count.
I'm Spartacus
Yes, it is a snub. Did the Ravens really warrant 12 players in the Pro Bowl??? Can you say "over the top"! "Cmon' man!
NewEra
Smoke and Phillips should’ve made it. Hyde should always make it, but DBs need picks. Edmund & milano get screwed because there are only 2 non edge rushing LBs on the roster..... while there are 3 edge rushers and 3 DEs morse should’ve been there over pouncey Edited December 19, 2019 by NewEra

Bills Fan In Pittsford
I think Ed is right here. Not sure how we got to 10 and 4 with one pro bowl selection. 6 teams had only one selection. Here are their records: Bills 10-4 Bengals 1-13 Broncos 5-9 Jags 5-9 Jets 5-9 Lions 3-10 2

Might help us at contract time. John Brown also was deserving of at least 1st alternate IMO. Edmunds and Milano have had their fair share of stinker games. They did not get screwed at all. Morse has been decent but has not set the world on fire. We did not really feel it when he missed time and our back up went in for a while. ROCBillsBeliever
@HOUSE: Thanks for sharing. Great article! My favorite part wasn't about Oliver or about J. Phillips; it was the Tre White quote that sealed it for me: “It’s kind of frustrating that I’m the only guy to get it because I don’t think I get to celebrate it because the guys in the locker room, they can’t join me in it,” White said. “But yeah, it kind of sucks, man.” Dude has been earned this Pro Bowl nomination not just this year, but last year, as well, and he finally gets picked... And what are Tre's thoughts? He's pissed! He is P-I-S-S-E-D because he wants to celebrate with his team. With his brothers. With dudes he knows have earned it (i.e. J. Phillips). You see, THAT is the kind of attitude and family that THIS team is about; that MY team is about. That's the Buffalo Bills, and that's why I will always love THIS team! machine gun kelly
Not that it matters as Phillips will be much happier with an extension, winning the last two games, and winning at least one of them in the playoffs. With that said, whoever makes it to the SB, will miss the PB, so more players will get in as an alternate. For me, I’d like to see JP, and Edmunds given the nod. vincec
I thought the historical rule of thumb was that you get elected to the pro bowl one year after the first season you should have gone and keep going one year beyond where you should have made it. If Phillips can reproduce something similar to the results from this season then I think next season is his year. Doc Brown
The AP and PFWA should pick the pro bowlers like they do the all pro team. Letting the general public have a substantial say in something is always a mistake. Rodgers over Cousins is a prime example.

John Brown is 17th in yards and like 33rd in TD's. I guess the case could be made for Tremaine Edmunds, but usually it takes more than just aggregating tackles. As a linebacker you need certain stats to jump off the stat sheet to get votes. Plus, he's a first alternate. So I don't really get why people are up in arms. Pro Bowl requires big stats OR name recognition (from previously having big stats). Nobody really fits the bill except Phillips.
