Formerly Allan in MD
B++ You get an A when you figure out how to accurately throw an "out pass." Some of those today were quite ugly.
MAJBobby
1 hour ago, rayray808 said: WEEK 1: B- WEEK 2: B WEEK 3: C+ WEEK 4: F WEEK 5: B+ WEEK 7: B WEEK 8: D+ WEEK 9: B+ WEEK 10: B- WEEK 11: A 21/33 - 64% completion rate - 256 yards - 3 TD, 0 INT - 56 yards rushing - TD (4 TD total on the day) "Play fearless" was the mantra heading into this game, and Josh Allen delivered. He had a few throws that were off, but he stayed poised the entire game and took calculated risks that helped spark our offense to put up 37 points. The great: We knew this game had tremendous pressure placed on the team, the offense and mainly Josh Allen. Twitter and FB boards had fans crying for a new OC, and to have Barkley take over our offense already. McDermott went in and had one request, "play fearless". Josh Allen did just that. He threw ropes for 40 yard TDʻs, rushed for huge chunks, and had that 3 TD game that had other fans using as a measuring stick that franchise QBʻs must be able to do. The good: 0 picks. 0 fumbles. As the playbook opened up a bit, especially after we established the running game, Josh was able to control the offense without gambling away possessions as we have seen him do in the past. This is yet another game with no picks since the Pats game, and most importantly for me, a game where he ran the ball well when it was available, AND DID NOT FUMBLE THE BALL. Although it seems like Singletary got the bug now. The bad: He had some throws that he needs to be able to hit and cash in on. The crossing route to Brown was one of them. Before the end of the half he also had a sideline through that should have been picked off. His completion rate was around 50% at one point, which isnʻt ideal, but he made the adjustment and got us a much needed win. In summary: he is a sophomore QB, and you have to train yourself not to get so low when the times are bad, and yet not get so high after a game like this. What we want to see is continued progress in various aspects of his role as our starting QB, and so far Josh Allen has been delivering. GO BILLS! agree couple off target throws but all QBs have some. This was the best game of his year. Now Nosh start stacking them

CincyBillsFan
A+ Who cares if a couple of passes were off. In almost EVERY game EVERY QB has off throws. 37 points; 4 TD's; over 300 total yards and the win. Game changing drives and NO INT's or LOST fumbles. This is the definition of an A+ As an aside did any of you read Sal Meanyiola 's article on today's game? That guy is a flat out A-Hole! I mean he has his own criteria about what constitutes good QB play for Allen. The bias is stunning. And wasn't it interesting to see the other Josh on the Dolphins sideline. I kept thinking "thank God we got the right Josh"! As an aside Allen is starting to generate some interesting QB stats like the number of games in a row scoring at least 2 TD's and the number of passes he's thrown since his last INT. He's making progress. Of that there can be no doubt. 3

Now whether that was on Allen himself trying to limit the bad INTs or the coaching staff telling him not to throw those passes, Im not sure but today was a noticeable difference. I especially liked the aggressive playcalling and tempo after Miami made it 30-20 and the Bills responded with their best drive of the game for a game clinching TD. 10 Passing TDs only 1 INT since the Pats*** game and he's added 4 more TDs on the ground during that stretch. He's now thrown 163 passes without an INT. He's definitely getting better.

I agree but i think the 3 games before this he became almost too concerned with not throwing a bad INT to the detriment of him taking some chances. He has to have some gunslinger in him if he is going to succeed they can't coach it out of him...today i think was a much better balance of aggressive play without being overly aggressive.

He threw a 50/50 ball to a well covered Brown on a post that last week I don't think he throws. Brown fought for it and won... give Allen a few more play-makers like that and his confidence will continue to grow in regards to throwing guys open and trusting them to make a play on the ball. The o-line did a great job in pass-pro, giving Allen plenty of time. The Dolphins tried the same thing every team has been doing to Allen, loading up the box on 3rd down, but he is getting more used to what teams are doing to confuse and pressure him. Just takes seeing it enough times...we have to be patient. 3

MJS
Allen is apparently the first quarterback since Russell Wilson in 2015 with five consecutive two touchdown, no interception outings. hemma
I still can't believe how fast he runs. He really flies, with some serious wiggle. Also, that straight arm he put on a DT near the sidelines, then the strength to throw it away. Most QBs would have been gobbled up. 2

Yeah, you would like to see him throw it away a bit sooner than that, but that is the competitor in him with eyes downfield till the d-lineman is breathing right down his neck. He still thought he could shake the guy and make a play, but finally had to concede he was on the verge of taking a sack for a loss.
