thronethinker
I decided to start a separate thread after commenting on Gronk being hired for analysis... Does anyone even watch the Pre Game, Halftime, or Post Game analysts? I may have the TV on but its usually on mute. I cannot stand to watch that crap anymore as Its all just fluff and puff pieces that usually focus on a set few teams. I can get better stuff on youtube watching drunken fans making fools of themselves crying about their teams QB or coaches.
IDBillzFan
The only time I watch any of it is if I'm waiting for the Bills game to start or it's halftime of the Bills game so I can catch up on other games. Otherwise, the mute button is quickly pressed every time Suzy Kolber introduces a halftime music video. 3
Boatdrinks
Mostly unwatchable these days. Ex -Pat talking heads turning most every discussion back to the Patriots, BB etc. I usually turn them off after a few minutes , at the first mention of NE. It rarely takes longer than that.
Florida Bills Fanatic
Most of these shows are unwatchable. They fail to focus on relevant information about the game that you are watching or the games that are in progress. Having four or five people sitting on a table and all trying to talk or goof around is useless. I used to enjoy Tom Jackson and Chris Berman on ESPN.
US Egg
Same can also be said about gushing gooey game announcers. Watch most games with volume off when I can.
EmotionallyUnstable
I usually will watch the local pregame after listening to WGR before the game. I never watch the half time or post coverage, as I’m looking at other games, fantasy scores or highlights. if you’re looking for an alternative on Sundays, check out NFL’s mobile app. You can ever the highlights from each game complete with the broadcast crew’s original play call. There is no fluff, no comments from Pats guys or national media members relentlessly clinging to Brady’s sweaty jock. CaptnCoke11
I don’t watch them anymore. Talk about the same teams And players every week. They are more clown shows anymore than actual football talk. I’ll listen to WGR up until kick off.

If I'm at home, the TV doesn't even come on until about 12:50. When I have to hit the bar to see the Bills, I get there at noon. That's the only time I ever watch pre-game stuff and it's half-watching, at best.
yungmack
If I'm conscious at 8 AM ( the games start at 10 out here), I'll watch the one on CBSSN with Adam Schein. Also like their NFL Monday QB.
Bferra13
The local pregame show before Murph and Wood come on WGR has become one of the worst things I've ever listened to. Not sure what they were thinking there. It used to be my refuge from the national junk, so now I got nothin.
KD in CA
Nope. Pre-game shows are all horrible. Absolutely zero value. Post-game highlight shows are terrible. It's 70% yammering idiots, 30% highlights where they just cycle the same four games for hours on end. 4
LSHMEAB
People used to watch them because there was only so much access the average fan had to to football. Now, not so much; at all. I'm "only" 38 and I remember waiting for Wednesday's USA Today to get a complete list of NFL stats. This was probably like 96-98. And I'm sure I watched pre game shows because you'd get Sunday, Monday, and Jaws and Sal Pal(I think) doing Edge NFL Matchup on Friday's (I think). Now, I can watch anything, anytime, anywhere. Very different world. I really don't even think the content of these shows was ever all that great; it was just the only place in town open.

I agree and would add the game broadcasters to the mix. Troy Aikman is brutal. Freddie's Dead
I DVR them and FF to find the 5 minutes of Bills info. I always stop for the picks, so I can see Tedy (buy a D already) Bruschi never pick the Bills. Heck, they didn't even bother having a stadium reporter for Bills Bengals, no updates from the Cap pregame. 6 minutes ago, Ridgewaycynic2013 said: The round table years ago in that 2 to 1 hour slot prior to kickoff was excellent and interesting. Miyagi-Do Karate
I don’t watch them— totally vapid analysis. I turn on shows for my kids at halftime. I don’t understand who watches those shows. MrSarcasm
Not just the NFL but all sports have been copying the WWE model for some time now. They just run 'entertaining' stories and interviews while making generic statements. No one dives into actual play and schemes anymore (Romo is the exception I think). IMHO the sporting world is a dying industry. It's oversaturated and overstated. ?

And yet whether it is the NFL over there or the Premier League over here they remain, by far, the hottest ticket in town for TV schedules. As for the pre-game I usually watch most of the NFL Network show. I tend to have it on while I prep and make my roast dinner. It is good background noise and sometimes they will do a segment I am interested in. But I agree they talk about the same teams too much. The Patriots, the Steelers, the Cowboys and the Giants make up at least 75% of any show. I actually like Rich Eisen though. As someone who did a bit of radio anchoring of panel style show with former soccer players back in my journalism days I appreciate his skill as an anchor. He is one of the best sports anchors out there in any sport for me. 3 minutes ago, Chandler#81 said: Unwatchable? Worthless? Mute? Vapid? Yea but you do have some good qualities too Chandler.
