Rapaport: Seahawks now the front-runner for Ziggy Ansah (Signed for 1 yr, base 9 mill)

Recommended Posts

Wording of that tweet makes it sound like itā€™s all but done.Ā

Ā

Not a big loss honestly, wouldā€™ve been nice depth but Ansah doesnā€™t seem to have the talent he once had. Ā Wouldā€™ve been a slight upgrade, but not the game changer that some members of this board seem to think he is.Ā

Iā€™m shocked he didnā€™t quit his job and crawl into a black hole somewhere. He probably swore vengeance to the Bills over the entire thing. Totally makes sense.

Ansah ALWAYS has to be a ā€œguy at the right price.ā€ Heā€™s also a weird fit here because he really SHOULDĀ be on a 1 year ā€œprove-itā€ deal. The Bills are fine at DE this year (obviously heā€™d make them better). Itā€™s 2020 where they potentially have a big hole.

This Bills FO isn't overpaying for a player with a wonky shoulder.Ā

Ā

Recovering from shoulder surgery is tough for the average person who doesn't deliberatly drive it into large people for a living.Ā Ā

We already have one DE with chronic injuries (Murphy)...don't make the same mistake twice Beaner.

I do wonder if Trentā€™s history has made Beane think twice before taking on another injury risk,

Many posters are overrating Ansah's value. His skills have diminished considerably. He' s Trent Murphy 2.0. Let someone else overpay him and eat hisĀ dead money next year. We need top tier DE's if we're going to get to the playoffs because we have a 3rd tier QB. I'm thinking we'll trade for 1 and draft another next year and/or resign Hughes if the terms are right.

90 is both his jersey # and his Madden rating.

Interesting though that Rapsheet specifically mentions the Bills as still having interest - so i think they would take him, Ā but Beane likely has a set value on a player like that and heā€™s going to have a higher value in Seattle where they have a bigger need at the position.Ā

I'd rather give Hughes a 2 or 3-year extension now rather than wait.Ā  I have a feeling Hughes is going to have a monster year if the Bills generate more interior pressure

Ā

Ian R...will always be saddled with the Antonio Brown "Breaking News" in my book..

What you say makes sense. Ā Beane also seems to be very astute about not setting himself (the team) up to carry a bunch of dead money. Ā Seattle may be more willing to put guaranteed money on the table against a longer contract. Ā

IMO, I thought Shaq Lawson improved quite a bit last year. If he takes his game up another step this year, he could be really good. Murphy might even be semi healthy this year too.

Ā

I've also been a fan of Eddie Yarborough and that other guy they signed from the Lions (Harold ?) could be in the picture this year too.

Ā

Ziggy would be cool but I'm not sure he's muchĀ  better than what we have

I think Ziggy is a better player than Murphy or Shaq. But that is only if healthy.Ā

Shaq, MurphyĀ & Yarborough are jags. Iā€™m not sure Ziggy isnā€™t, but if thatā€™s all we can do this year, 4 jags are better than 3..

I'm not sold on the story yet. Sounds like ziggy's agent is squeezing the bills.Ā

I think the tweet is definitely straight from the agentĀ Ā - he visited more teams than the Bills,Ā including the Ravens, but only the Bills were mentioned.Ā

NFL Radio was making it sound the same way an hour ago. For the right deal it would have been nice IMO, but not if we had to get carried away. Let Seattle overpay if they are desperate after trading away their stud.Ā

pretty simple to understand the modern media circus. Get the hits, create the click bait, worry about the fallout later, then post articles about it creating more click baits
