Round 2 - trade up for?

Recommended Posts

Smart money says we move up a bit today... I think we need to do it if we want any of the following guys:

- Jawaan Taylor

- DK Metcalf

- AJ Brown

- Hakeem Butler

- Greedy Williams

I am down to trade up for the first 3 guys on that list... who are you willing to trade up for today?

You need to add Irv Smith, Jr onto that list. I'm hoping for Metcalf or Butler.

I like this list a lot and would be happy with any of these guys.

Just like last night.....don't panic.  There will be a very good player available at #8.

I don't want to panic either.

But they have the extra 4th and 5th round picks to package into a trade up(s).   No sense going for quantity (all 10 picks) when trading 2-3 slots could get you a slightly better prospect in round 2 or 3...

I'd be happy with a trade back. There are about 15 players I like a lot right now, would be super happy to be able to grab 2 of them.

That's what I think.  A trade back to ~10 spots, pick up more ammo, then work on using our 1st 4th rounder and several day 3 picks to move in and get 3 players tonight.  I'd love to walk out tonight with one of these CBs, an olineman and a WR.

Trade up?    How far?
I'd rather 2 2s and 2 3s

Round 2 • Pick 8 (40)
Round 3 • Pick 11 (74)
Round 4 • Pick 10 (112)
Round 4 • Pick 29 (131) • From Chiefs
Round 5 • Pick 9 (147)
Round 5 • Pick 20 (158) • From Steelers through Raiders
Round 6 • Pick 8 (181)
Round 7 • Pick 11 (225)
Round 7 • Pick 14 (228) • From Panthers

I really hope a couple of QBs are taken in front of us at #40. I think Drew Lock will go and possibly Ryan Finley.

Im hoping we pick one of these guys.

OT Jawaan Taylor

OT Cody Ford

WR DK Metcalf

CB Byron Murphy
WR AJ Brown

CB Justin Layne

Would rather let BPA come to us @40 and move back into 2nd with 3rd and 3rd with 4th.

drafting BPA outside of the 1st round is stupid. its how you end up with players at positions you didn't really need.

we cannot be spending another top pick on defense when we statistically had one of the worst offenses in NFL history last season.

This is absolute crazy talk.

yup lets continue to draft defense while our potential franchise QB goes into another year playing with practice squad talent on offense.

people who think Allen is somehow magically going to take this offense from bottom 3 to top 15 are going to get a big fat reality check soon. our offense is FAR from where it needs to be right now.

Unless someone is really sticking out to them I hope they stay put (unless the move requires very little capital). Someone good will be there at 40.

Agreeing with those that suggest moving back up into the second round than moving up from 40, but trusting Beane here.

You take the best players regardless of their position.

Too much talent available to trade up, we have the 8th pick tonight.

So agree with this. Be patient. Take a great player at 8 tonight.

I want offense as much as anyone but if there is a higher rated possible difference maker on defense available I say take him.
