Kelvin Benjamin needs to be cut

At the beginning of the year our coach said talent doesn't mean much without effort - what he has shown is he prefers certain players over others for unknown reasons and he won't actually pull through with what he preached.

We have the worst offense ever WITH KB, we might as well give other guys a shot who actually care and try. I'm willing to bet Peterman is a Bill this entire year. He's too valuable to their culture.

There are many players playing poorly for the Bills.  Some can't do anything about it, because they don't have the talent/ability to be in the NFL (Peterman).  However, Benjamin looks, to me, like a player who could contribute if he was better coached.  The only thing wrong with him is that he fails to understand his strengths and weaknesses.  He runs his routes like a speed receiver, trying to catch balls based on creating separation from defenders.  That's not who he is.  He lacks the speed/quickness to create catching opportunities that way.  His strengths are size and toughness.  He needs to start fronting his defenders and high pointing his catches  Essentially, he should be playing basketball out there.  I have yet to see him do this in any game.  That makes it seem that the problem is coaching.

Better coached?  My hunch is that he's had several coaches that have told him:  Make sharp cuts when the route calls for that, don't take a down off, stay on your feet (meaning don't fall down), catch the ball with your hands and see yourself catch it, hustle, practice like you expect to play.  Things like that.  He may not have the best hands or the best body control but he doesn't look committed to the fundamentals.  That's all on him.  He'd be more than a 1 trick pony if he just gave a better effort IMO.  Maybe "better coaching" has to include lighting has ass up on the sideline and putting him on the bench for a quarter until he fixes his inconsistent effort.

I've never seen a more lazy, unfocused, wide out in my life.   It's obvious why Carolina got rid of him.

This guy can't catch a cold.  To make matters even worse, he lays on the ground after every play smiling, waiting for someone to help him up.

He is a disease, and needs to be purged from this team.

This roster is terrible!!!

I see week after week analysts talking about how Bills WRs cannot get separation....This guy is part of that malaise

Since I have been paying attention to the Bills as a fan, I can only think of a handful of players who may have disappointed me more than KB. Rob Johnson is one glaring one, EJ and Sammy Watkins were minor ones. But KB was supposedly a stud receiver who was going to outmuscle defenders and catch everything no matter how high it was thrown. His performance on the field has been awful, he appears to be so lazy on his routes and his attitude on the field is douchey. How many times does he whine for a flag when a DB breaks up a pass legally? Or when he takes a hit he is talking trash right after? In every way he just seems to be a negative for this team. I'm not sure how he fooled McD and co about the character requirement!

Yeah, I think it's too late for him to respond to coaching. The only thing that might motivate him is the right environment where the players can call him out.

Beane loves him for some unholy reason. What does that tell you about Beane as a talent evaluator? Please send them both back to Carolina!!!

The first move I would make would be to cut or trade the sorry ass Benjamin.

If this is what we can expect from Beane going forward, we're screwed.

...at the same time, how come guys "mysteriously" shine in a contract year and this guy has done the exact opposite?......no sure how McBeane would have known the guy has a screw loose.....

Heres another reason why- during the interception that was thrown to KB against the Bears did anyone notice him quit on the play? He looks at the DB with the ball and sees one of our guys (dont remember who) semi tackling him so KB just watches- then he realized the dude aint goin down so he runs in the direction of the endzone and gets in prime tackling position behind Peterman lol! Here is a link- 3rd video down.

Kelvin and Pryor can both be released on Monday.  They are cut from the same cloth.  Unless the ball is thrown perfectly into their hands or chest they make zero effort to go after it. Just embarrassing lack of effort

Did you see the pass that was popped up - the Jets db's were diving and trying to pull it out of the turf while Benjamin stood there and did not even make an effort to knock it down or anything. I have seen this behavior before and shocked that McDermott would bring a player like that on this team. Runs counter to the culture he claims he is trying to foster.

I agree - needs to be cut... all the skill potential in the world does not make up for coaching staff turning a blind eye to that kind of attitude/effort.

Definitely hope he resigns...the sooner the better.

You hope he resigns as in another contract signing....

Or... you hope he resigns, as in give his official I quit notice.

So confused...

I noticed this play as well.  Pathetic effort on his part.

Given what this season is, I'd like to see an example made out of him and have him cut.  I'd honestly rather have Peterman on the team than Benjamin.  Peterman tries but is terrible.  Benjamin doesn't try and he's still terrible.

Please read. It’s pretty simple if you have any knowledge of the English language. Or google “resign” if you need to.

He legit stood there while everyone around him made an attempt.

He needs to be benched, another receiver from the practice squad needs to be brought up.

These young guys have heart, pride, and determination.   KB is a waste, and I'm beginning to actually hate the guy.

He's been solid, if not spectacular, his whole career. He has one bad season and you don't even want to give him a 2nd chance? I'm glad you don't get to make that decision.

I know Gregg, but Jeepers, even when he catches the ball he is like a statue who isn’t even comfortable in his own body.  All his though last week went it to the catch and he had utterly no “moves” to run with the ball.

he has been dreadful and here also is the big th8ng: what in the world are you going to pay him and what would it take?

I truly don’t th8nk he is worth more than 1.5 a year.

Solid?   LMAO

Bro, Google KB dropped passes.   He was second in the league for dropped padres this year.   He dropped 37% of his passes thus far, and has a lengthy history of drops.

Aside from the drops, there is ZERO EFFORT from this guy.

Zay Jones drops a ton of passes, but I will never question the kids passion and effort.

It's not whether he has one bad season or not, it is whether he is right for a young team and QB who are going to go through some growing pains.

A young developing QB will need to know his receivers have his back, will fight for balls, or work to bat down or play DB if one is poorly thrown. A prima donna that is going to pout at every poor pass, not fight for any of them, and check out for most of a game because he is not the center of attention is a liability. And when your rookie QB asks to practice and warm up throwing routes to you, you can't be bothered... indefensible.

Sorry Kelvin we do not have a ready-made all-star QB and O-line... don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I'm not one to flame a player to be cut. This guy is honestly the only player I can remember saying to flat out cut. Make an example of him in the locker room and move on.  I have no problem giving McD and Beane a pass on the 3rd rd pick lost. I would rather see them learn from the mistake and move on.

KB is one of the worst Buffalo WR's I have ever seen behind Hardy (RIP). KB is a flat waste of time for a QB to make a WR progression read on.

This is a terrible post. He's been lazy his entire career. He consistently doesn't try. He can't hold on to the ball. He's a waste of space. Spiking the ball nets you a better qb rating than throwing to benjamin. Think about that. A guaranteed incompletion is a better decision than trying to complete a pass to him. Why would anyone in their right mind want to give that person a 2nd chance?

yep, that tipped ball was it for me.  i couldnt believe he just stood there and watched it. it looked like he could have caught it or if it was intercepted by a jet he would have been able to make the tackle.
