Success
Miller will probably be next year. Hopefully he can regain some of his form this season. Even a 6-7 sack season would be great.

jkeerie
I'm not making any assumptions about what the oline will look like. The press, I think is doing that based on who was active last year. My guess is that they will likely add olinemen in the draft and have a full scale competition in camp for the starting center.
Allen2Moulds
Hate this move. We finally got our Oline right, and you immediately start to dismantle it. How about we add a WR, but otherwise leave our offense alone. The defense is what's been a colossal failure in the playoffs each year, and could be completely blown up for all I care.
Matt_In_NH
Love Morse but this is in the best interest of the Bills for years to come, not just Morse, Harty, Poyer, White....this is what they needed to do. So glad Beane did not try kicking the can down the road again. Edited March 6 by Matt_In_NH 1
stlbills13
I could still see Morse coming back. I'm not sure there's going to be a huge market for a center at his age and concussion history. Could see this as a favor to him to try to get another solid contract but could come back here at a lower price

So maybe the bills end up interested in him for a mid level deal with small cap numbers the first few years. I have to think they have at least one more guy in camp who is a real center and not just anderson and mcgovern. I know this, the bills ran left a hell of a lot in clutch situations last year and if moving mcgovern upsets the running game which was the strength last year...then what?
Pete
So much for Oline cohesion- WTF Beane? Now we have a few more holes to fill on Oline. Not to mention we need WRs, RB, DT, DE, S I don’t like these moves!

Don Otreply
Like said up thread, this has been planned out for some time now, they know who they want as new blood on the team, and they will go out and get them, I mean Bates, Hines, Harty are not like key guys and neither are some of the others, imo the O-line will be as good or better than last season, on the D side, lots of hungry young guys fighting for jobs and their futures, I’m not concerned, this all had to happen, we know and understand this, it will be interesting and exciting to watch the team be recreated, GO BILLS!!! Back2Buff
This is so dumb to me. Right back to the days of our o line being patch work. Edwards is a below avg guard and who the heck knows if McGovern can play center. What are we doing here?!!?
NoSaint
5 minutes ago, MikePJ76 said: sure also just normal team building. The league and the cap leave little room for old and declining players who make considerable amounts of money. I imagine the front office had this mapped out as they gave out the contracts with a few scenarios being different. Releasing/trading Diggs, dawkins, milano etc....would seem like a time to say rebuild. Most of these players sans the two starting safeties can be replaced on some level via the draft or mid level free agency after the draft. A lot of leadership and intelligence has left the locker room along with their cap numbers however and its nearly impossible to know how or when you can replace those qualities in players. Von Miller needs to be dealt with imo, there is no point in his being on the roster except for the cap ramifications. most teams flip all but 5 or so cornerstone guys every 3-4 years. Morse was a good player but not a cornerstone. You rotate as you find talent at or around the position. Three good guards for cheap created a viable shift 1

Bruffalo
I understand it but I still think this is the biggest surprise so far. We currently do not have a center on the roster. Wild. Good luck to Morse, he's been great for the Bills.

VW82
This is super interesting on a number of fronts, but the main thing is Morse was perhaps the last thing holding McD back from turning this offense into run first so he can play more complimentary football. We need a big RB and to replace Gabe with another blocking WR, but now we can run 11 personnel with more of a bruising interior. BTW I hate this development. Morse was still good and I liked the Daboll version of our offense better. Edited March 6 by VW82
