People donating to charity TBass has worked with

Recommended Posts

Didn't catch this posted.  Apparently Bills fans have been donating $22 to a cat rescue group "Ten Lives Club" that he has worked with in the past on a 'Show Your Soft Side' campaign.

As I'm sure many are aware, he's deleted his social media ostensibly due to a barrage of threats.

I had concern for the guy the minute he missed the kick…

Its not all fans but some can be diabolically ruthless with their words and actions when you’re part of the situation causing them the most stress…

Hope he bounces back and people choose to rally behind and support him than choose to insult, threat or demoralize a guy who no one came feel worse for what’s happened

It’s unfair to attack him personally. Fans have to be bigger than that. I maintain the game was over if he had nailed that kick anyway. No way was that defense stopping Mahomes from getting at least a FG.

All that said, I think Bass is cooked. It was discussed yesterday that once a kicker’s mind goes into yips mode, they never recover to become one of the best in the league, which is what we need him to be given that contract. He may have another year or two where he returns to form and does well, but make no mistake, if the yips leave it’s only temporary, they’ll be coming back at some point and now that he’s missed a playoff game tie/winner he has that to further cloud his mind.

Fans should donate directly to Bass instead, asking him to retire and take his contract off our books so we can sign a non-scrub kicker

It’s people like you that contribute to the bullying mentality.  Get lost.

That was the weirdest kick after finally having the guts to rewatch it. He didn’t shank it at all. It looked dead center then just changed directions rapidly out of nowhere. Looking at the flags at the goal posts, the wind wasn’t blowing hard either. Makes me really think Buffalo is cursed somehow.

I agree. Just kind of sliced it. Although I don't know why he doesn't correct a bit more toward the left post ...

His kicks tend to have a bit of an arc I think.

Just horrible luck all around. I really hope he uses it as motivation and corrects whatever mechanics or confidence issues he has over the offseason. I was angry at first, but Bass has made some HUGE kicks over the years. I think they should pick up a Kicker in the draft as competition, but I don’t want to give up completely. His slump lately has been very concerning though. Unfortunately, we have all these players that we are contractually tied to.

Hey donating to charity is wonderful. Power to you…but what are we doing here? I mean obviously don’t be making threats to the guy but now we have to be donating to his charity because he’s upset? I mean it’s a kick you have to make. There’s considerable middle ground between being an ####### and threatening him and acting like we are happy. If you want to give to a worth cause, go ahead. But what are we doing here.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything.  Some think it's a nice way of showing support for one of our players who is getting completely outrageous and uncalled for abuse.

Listen, I'm as pissed and disappointed as anyone that Bass missed that kick.  It's okay to vent some frustration on this message board, but for these @ssholes physically threatening Bass through his social media, I'd love to hold them accountable face-to-face.

It's disgusting to come at him on social media and even worse to issue threats.

You don't always recover from the “yips” Bass might be done, still not a reason to make death threats, more of a reason to look at the those that put a shaky kicker in that situation

Can we donate to Von Miller’s charity because he didn’t play well?

Its sad he is getting so much hate.  We didnt lose the game because of Bass, I mean KC had a lot of time and 2 timeouts and all they needed was a FG against a defense that has failed to stop them from getting a FG in 13 seconds and 12 seconds and was only able to force even 5 3rd downs all game.

So, even if Bass makes that kick, the odds are high that KC gets into FG range and takes the clock down and hits the game winner.  No guarantee, but this by no means is why we lost the game.  I mean there are so many plays...Kelce uncovered TD, Diggs dropped bomb, Dawkins stepping on Josh foot on the throw to Shakir for the go ahead TD, the OL not holding up on 3rd down forcing a FG attempt, etc.

This was very different than Norwood...the moment we didn't convert on 3rd down I told my wife that is game.  Tying the game giving Mahomes final possession is not a recipe to win, we needed the TD.

I am so glad Social Media didn’t exist when Scott Norwood missed his kick. People can be ruthless. But I’m sure they never made a single mistake at their job we should ask their bosses.

glass houses.

job? they are likely low life crack heads that have no job. ruthless? no, they are nothing more than cowards that need to be strung up by their balls.

Anyone threatening him needs to examine their own pathetic excuse for lives and how much a game - in which at the end of the day we’re cheering for laundry - is impacting their happiness.

They should also be criminally charged.

For me, it's to show support since he's getting threats. Letting him know that there are fans that stand by him and aren't a-holes.

Nothing would make me happier than Tyler Bass making a big Field Goal week one next year to a loud crowd of supporters.  Buffalo has always been a place that rewards people who are tough, and keep fighting even when they are down.  You miss a kick, it sucks.  He knows that.  You make a big kick next time you get the chance?  You've earned a loud cheer from Bills fans

From the all-22, look at the flags at the other end of the field. They were flying sideways, from left to right.

The wind is tricky in that stadium and if the Bills didn't consult with alumni special teamers or bring them in to help prepare the K and P, that's an oversight on their part.

We've seen that wind do that very thing in Rich Stadium for 50 years.

I don’t have the exact words but it seemed or felt like there was something off. Early in the season McDermott showed hesitance sending Bass out for long kicks. Was he injured? Did coaches see him shanking long FG’s in practice and the media didn’t catch wind? I feel bad for him. He has the leg and he’s been accurate. I think he’ll be great next year.

The thing is Tyler isn’t some kid off the street living his dream he is one of the highest paid kickers in the league.
He blew the kick.

It happens but one of his kicks before that was drifting as well.

His charity deserves all the money it can get but man talk about pressure every time he walks on the field next year every single kick is going to be under a magnifying glass.

The road to H-E-double-hockey-sticks is paved with good intentions.  If Bass is not injured, then there needs to be a competition next summer.  If he was hobbled, then maybe his performance will improve.  If there's a better option next fall, then you eat the cap number and cut him.  Rarely does a FG kicker get a full season to get his swing back.  Except in Buffalo (see the 1991 Bills season).

All this feel good stuff does not help you advance in the playoffs.  But the more I watch, the more it seems like the Bills fans want a show and care less about winning.

Um…is anyone arguing that it does??

The money goes to a GREAT cause and it hopefully makes Tyler and his fiancee (daughter of former Bills punter, Rick Tuten!) feel a little better. That’s all we’re trying to accomplish here.

Supposedly they’ve crossed the $250k donation mark. Let’s keep it rising! Any extra money can go to spaying and neutering members of Bills Mafia who are harassing Tyler.

Here’s the website where you can donate: https://www.tenlivesclub.com/
