Visited the Patriots forum and they are pretty confident.

They say the Patriots have had a late season resurgence with Zappe at QB and look like a different team, winning 2 of their last 3 games.

That sounds like they're in some form of denial about doing nothing but worsening their draft picks now.

I’d actually like to see a combo of the passing game clicking to get a big lead and then run it down there throats the remainder of the game.

It would be good to see Diggs having a bigger impact as well and getting Kincaid engaged. And please no more lateral screens to Diggs!

Brady loves the lateral wr screen as much as Dorsey loved the shotgun draw. Neither works, NFL players are too fast.  I can live with the occassional dump off over the middle or in the flat, but scrub the Diggs screen.

I agree, I hate seeing that quick WR screen. Then again, I think Brady is using it for two reasons: one, as a substitute for a run play to try and get 4-8 yards (not necessarily to break one every time); and two, to keep the DBs from playing too far off the line in man coverage, setting up a deep ball attempt.

Can't really say it's working so far, by my unprofessional eyes, but I think there is some method to this madness, I just can't quite see it.

The weather could be a factor.  The long-range forecast (caveat: usually not expected to be accurate this far out) is 36F, 24% chance of precipitation, and a mild breeze.  If it's just a little colder than 36F, and if Sunday is the one day out of four when a 24% chance of precipitation means it does occur, we're looking at a heavy snowfall.  34F and snowing usually means very heavy snowfall, and if it's been below freezing the night before, heavy accumulation.

Maybe all-white uniforms would be best, to help the players hide from the Patriots.

I agree he's trying to set up a bigger deep play later. The problem is we'll waste 2-3 blown-up wr screen plays to set up a play that never seems to come?  Besides Josh throws that lateral poorly.

It’s like Skip Bayless and his ridiculous opinions on Tim Tebow and LeBron James. Once you take a position as a sports hot-taker, all you can do is to just keep digging deeper. Nick Wright has a few persistent takes, and one of them is  “Bills suck.” He can never back down. Not good for the brand.

Yeah, exactly. It seems like that's what he's trying to do, but I just can't see it working.

Look past his rant against the Bills.  Wright is correct that that the Bills didn't blow out an opponent they were expected to.  Cowherd's defense of the Bills v Chargers is exactly right.  The Bills had a short week, lost a day due to travel, played a Chargers team that had 10 days rest, neutralized Khalil Mack, and WON.  They WON an NFL game against an NFL opponent.

While the Bills have been up and down, Wright is right (haha) that the Eagles have looked bad for the last month.  The Bills had them beat, and would have put the game away in the first half were it not for Shawn Hochuli and his Eagles love (and the Bills could have won if McD had gone for it on fourth down after Allen and Davis didn't connect).  Other than that win in OT, the Eagles have sucked bad.

The only team that doesn't seem to have trouble playing well every game is Baltimore.  Counting on the Ravens to have a fish fry next week, to keep the #1 seed, and put the Dolphins at risk of losing the AFCE.

Every team that the Bills play that are not at the top of the standings everyone expects them to blow them out, it’s not realistic in todays football. I didn’t expect a blowout and I don’t expect one this weekend. I just I expect a W.

When the Bills are up against their best opponents they normally bring it. That Philly game should have ended when Brown fumbled the ball. The NFL is just *****. Ball was caught over his head and brought to his side. Oh he’s gotta make two steps is bull####, what if he was just jumping for the ball and was not running at all. Bringing it to his waist is having control of the ball.

I am cautiously optimistic about this game. Last week against the Chargers was a complete trap for various factors involving the Chargers (coaching change, mini-bye, one day shorter week for the Bills with long travel and the Chargers coming off an embarrassing performance) the Bills despite being on the wrong side of a three to zero turnover margin got the win.

This week the Bills are at home with an extra days rest playing a team with one less day off. I think the Bills will be extra motivated to possibly enter the playoffs with a win and will get a 2-4 score victory

They aren’t completely off (although their recency bias with Zappe is just fan bluster) as if the Pats can focus on shutting down Cook they may be able to frustrate the Bills. However I think the offense is not only better designed now that Joe Brady has taken over but there are a lot of places where Josh can throw the ball to that isn’t Diggs. Kincaid, Shakir, Knox and Gabe are all viable complementary pieces as are the RB’s out the backfield.

If the Bills can go up two scores early and force the Pats to be one dimensional look out as it could get ugly.

As I mentioned earlier, NE is the best, by far in the league, against the run.  How the Bills and Brady handle this will be key.

Gotta go quick passes, slants, and screens. Then take your shot deep when you get a chance. You can attack the Pats in the middle of the field .

Agreed. It works best w sherrfield or a back lined up as a WR . Sherrfield is a very poor man’s Deebo. Let him run tough and make the catch. I don’t need diggs in that play. Or if they DO do it. Have the option pass, diggs to a streaking open player.

I know the staggered weekend has thrown off the normal schedule routine, but I am a bit surprised at how little I am hearing about the Bills. I know that there were splashier results in more advertised games (Cowboys vs Dolphins, Ravens vs Niners) and a bigger upset (Chiefs loss) but very little about how the Bills clawed their way to the 6th seed with the potential to jump to #2.

I agree. And in the same conversation, no one is mentioning how Miami could be the 1 seed or the 6 seed…amazing how the last two weeks could shake out.

Weather (I know, a far way off) looks cloudy and the 30s.  Probably average wind.  Typical Buffalo winter weather.

As for some X's and O's, curious how Brady will consider the Bills run game.  Patriots are best in the league against the run.

Can't abandon the run but need to find a way to get production.  Could be a key to the game.

Shutting down the Patriots run game and then pressuring Zappe is my "I'm a fan and don't know crap) gameplan.

Sure would be nice to see the Bills Special Teams come and play a decent game.

Ha!

What metric are you using to qualify this?

they are #1 in ypc, but not in yards per game (2nd to Chicago). I wouldn’t say they are by far the best in the league.

The fact that you are adamant that there is no freaking way the Bills should lose on the road to the team with the 2nd best record in the NFL is hilarious.

How is it hilarious? There are TONS of people (it's definitely the majority of posters in here) who think that the Bills can "beat anybody, at any time", and are primed to go on a SB run, so why can't I jump on that bandwagon? I've also frequently read in here that Miami has only beat ONE team this year that has a winning record, so they're really not that good. Plus, the Bills already beat the pulp out of the Fish earlier this year, so....

I haven't heard a peep about Allen's incredible game winning drive with two tough as nails throws on 3rd and 10 to get us into FG range. All I've heard talk about is his turnovers. Even from Bills fans, it's like everyone just takes his clutchness for granted now.

The Bills can beat anybody, at any time, and also lose to anybody, at any time.  I have never seen a team so consistently inconsistent, or who so frequently plays to the level of their opponents.

That said, I do think the Bills should beat Miami, they've been very successful against them with Allen historically and whalloped them earlier this year.

Many folks here rightly think that the Bills are capable of beating any team. Pretty much everyone recognizes we are inconsistent. Many have frequently questioned the acumen of our head coach, and some wonder about officiating. Few are arrogant and dim in the manner you insinuate. It's a trollish exaggeration.

It's absolutely true that Miami has only beaten one team with a winning record. That does not mean they are really not that good, but they have yet to establish they can beat clearly good teams. Dallas on the road is not a very good team. The Cowboys are not coached by a genius. And Miami did not win convincingly. If they beat the Ravens, the narrative will change.

I have not read anyone arrogantly assuming an easy win on the road against a team with a prolific offense. Folks have noted the decimated Miami oline, and that Josh Allen normally plays well against the Fish. There is reason for guarded optimism, and naturally, many thought the season was over after the injuries that hit in London, and excruciating losses. We've rebounded like we did in 2021, so folks are both relieved and happy, thinking we might indeed be able to go on a Super Bowl run. If all you can do is mock that, it says more about you than the majority of posters here.

It’s crazy the Bills’ top 3 players on offense are turnovers and/or drops waiting to happen. The Pats are the kind of team that will take advantage of that to win.

No turnovers and the Bills should win comfortably. More turnovers and critical

drops and the Pats will win.

I appreciate their win over Denver the other day... but if I were a Pats fan - I would be pissed they keep messing up their draft order.

One could also say it's difficult to beat a division rival two times in a season, the dolphins have a huge home field advantage, which Bills team shows up, and they might have a letdown or exhausted making a run.

Not saying I believe any of that but it's plausible. Point being there are always different ways to see and analyze things. Agree?

In my post that you made this reply to, my sentence about Miami being not that good because they have only beaten one winning team WAS NOT my assertion. You interpreted that sentence incorrectly. I was just restating what MANY posters in here are now saying/have said about the Fish.

So, MANY people in here think that the Bills *should* beat them, no matter where they play. I think that way too, but not because I think they’re (Fish) not good. The Bills are the more talented, better team.

And it’s still nowhere near “hilarious” to think that the Buffalo Bills will go in to Hard Rock Stadium and dispatch the Dolphins to the 5, 6, or 7 seed. That’s what I had a problem with. It may be overconfident, brash, aggressive, or bold, but it’s nowhere near hilarious. 😉 And MANY people in here agree with me too.

Finally, posting an opinion YOU don’t agree with is not “trollish”, rather, it’s just another view….no need to throw insults and get all high & mighty.

I avoid the talking heads because I get nothing out of it but since I have been sick for two damn weeks I have watched a lot of this garbage on utube.

It seems there is a whole group of former players who all have something in common which i wont mention who seem to take it personal when it comes to allen and will not give him credit.  They literally seem to get mad if someone says he is as good as mahomes, tua, hurts, dak, jackson etc.

I will leave it at that.

I will also say I saw that halfwit Dez Bryant on twitter saying saturday night that diggs needs to get up out of Buffalo because Allen isn't good enough to get him the ball.

I don't why, how or when this started but its pretty stupid.  I don't get mad about it and I find it kind 0f pathetic that this is what these networks are at the moment and the best they can do.

Anyway.  I think its going to take a huge game from Allen to win this week and I hope he comes through.

Yeah, but it's also at home and not 3200 miles away. We basically pissed on our leg as bad as possible the first game in NE and still got cheated out of a win by a crap flag pickup. Mac Jones also played the game of his life. The chances of all that happening again and at home... nah. We good.
