ChrisWatson#21
Played the over and Pittsburgh +4.5 and Tomlin kicked a field goal on 4th and inches there at the end. Â Onside kick is much less probable to convert than a 4th and less than 1. Â His offense must be feeling good after that vote of confidence.

It was the right move. You take the field goal to give yourself as much time as possible to get the game winning TD if you recover the onside kick.

GunnerBill
Friday morning reflections....  1. Kevin Stefanski is a good offensive coach and he is calling some nice games to allow Brissett to have some success. He is on my list of current Head Coaches who I wouldn't mind as Bills OC if Josh keeps getting his guys Head Coaching jobs.  2. The Browns don't have a lot of weapons in the passing game and before they get a full year of Watson next year they have to find a way to upgrade. It is Cooper, Njoku and a bunch of JAGs.  3. Talking of offensive weaponary people need to stop telling that Diontae Johnson is some sort of elite receiver. He drops way too many balls. In an offense struggling like Pittsburgh's you can't have your #1 guy dropping three first downs a game. He is dangerous once the ball is in his hands. But his hands are below average.  4. I don't know if it is Matt Canada encouraging him to get on the move because of his mobility or whether Mitch has zero feel but he needs to stop bailing clean pockets. It was Tyrod Taylor like last night watching Mitch roll out of the pocket only to look up and see that the play that was there needed to be made from the pocket.  5. I don't think the Steelers are completely dead yet because even without Watt they have some pieces up front. That Cleveland offensive line is probably the best in the NFL and Heyward, Ogunjobi and Highsmith still had their moments. If that dline can help them eek out another win or two on the front 9 and then they get Pickett in there and he does okay second half of the year... it isn't beyond the realm of possibility they could end up right around the .500 mark again. Jets next week is a must win though. Edited September 23, 2022 by GunnerBill 1

Backyard rivalries The story I remember during the realignment exercise was that Ralph specifically DIDN'T want the Bills to end up in the "Rust Bowl" division for two reasons:  1) They'd have been an afterthought in an afterthought division, buried forever behind the Steelers; 2) They'd have been pulled away from major media markets in New York, Boston and Miami. They would have become essentially irrelevant.

Agree, regardless of how good those teams are at any given time, there’s something special about Midwest football. It feels like pro football the way it’s meant to be. Teams with tradition and great fanbases who always show up. The lack of fan enthusiasm comes right through the television in many other markets, and having the Giants and Cowboys always on national TV becomes a bore. 1

I watched for the second week in a row through an "alternative online method" which was riddled with technical problems throughout the second half.
