Fam and I went to Pro-Am a couple months ago. On fourth hole my kids (8/10) in there JA gear were waving at him. His was speaking with his Larry Fitzgerald and other golfers but saw them, walked about 20-30 yards over to us for some fist bumps, pics and autographs. He didn’t need to do that. Rest of round he was equally patient and generous with time and with kids. Always a Bills fan but also will always be a JA fan. Go Bills. Go JA17 

 

At a time when football players behaving badly off the field has become commonplace (or maybe bad behavior can't be hidden as easily as it was in the past), Allen isn't just a superstar on the field, he's one off the field as well.

I think it would be one of those things where I'd be so jealous he wasn't on our team.  His personality is just such a perfect fit for Buffalo...after everything we've been through over the years as Bills fans it's still surreal to me how this fell into place.

So I need a life eh? What a harsh thing to say to a total stranger. I'm not perfect and I think buying baby designer clothing is shallow. sue me. AND I know people whom have met Britt in person and she has been nothing but a sweetheart from all accounts.

I generally appreciate extremely talented athletes who who embrace their opportunities and show passion for their their sport, family, teammates and the communities that support them.  When they are inclined to go out of their way to lift others up they enter a new category of humanity for me. Huge negatives are reserved for those who demonstrate a sense of entitlement or who publicly point fingers at those around them in an attempt to deflect criticism from themselves.  So, by all these measures Josh would score very well.

 

But, when the national media starts going overboard in praise of an individual there is a natural, knee jerk reaction on my part to reject the hype.

I have had QB envy for most of my fanhood. Didn't like Montana, Peyton Manning etc for most of their careers.

I started to enjoy watching them play near the end of their careers and just take in the greatness.

 

But I also liked guys like Favre and Young, because they were so exciting to watch.

 

Allen is a play maker and is a really entertaining. I probably would like watching him play even if he was not on the Bills and wonder why we couldn't have a guy like that. But we do!

 

I have friends and family who are Eagles/ Giants/ Raiders/Pats fans and they all tell me Allen is must watch football.

I’d appreciate him just like I do Lamar - guy can make incredible plays and will his team to victory.  I have to respect that trait.  I’m sure I’d look at his demeanor and come to terms that he is a genuine guy.

That's where I'm at. Always liked and respected Manning not only as a player, but off the field too. Allen kinda seems to have a similar type personality or vibe etc that makes it hard to not like him. Unless you're a Fins, Jets, Pats fan I guess lol.

yes to be honest that was some of my thinikng too...mrs mahomes may receive baby designer swag for free for all I know .. I shouldnt be judging that of which there are so many uncertainties . But Im sick of her face up in my social media Im Over it.

I would appreciate Allen's skills if he played for another team but it wouldn't be the same as it is now. Thankfully he is a Bill. An example of an opposing QB would be Peyton Manning. I loved watching Manning play because he is of the best QB's to ever play. But he wasn't a Bill so I can't say I was rooting for him except of course when he went up against Brady.

My core friend group are bronco and niner fans and they all agreed they would do a Ricky Williams trade in a heart beat to have Allen on their team.

Even more now with the drama of so many qbs around the nfl, and Allen says he loves training camp so he can watch movies and play video games and bond with his friends, that's the guy you want as your franchise.

   I'd have liked the Bills to have drafted Ben at the time.  However being accused of rape on 2 seperate occasions makes me glad he wasn't a Bill.  I don't know if the accusations are true,  but I prefer better conduct from players that represent my favorite team.  I like that Josh is more about spending his free time working on his game to get better and also improving his family's farming so they all benefit years from now as well.  He also isn't chasing endorsements but when one dies present itself he insists it also carries a charitable donation to the Patricia Allen Foundation.   WNYers are hardworking but very generous to causes that are worthy of that generosity and I like my teams to be full of players that share that trait.

I see your point about Rivers but he wasn’t a realistic option due to how high he was drafted. Big Ben was though.

Probably, but I assumed OP was meaning like if after his time with Bills eventually landing with a different team and not drafted by a different team?

 

Idk, either way if it had played out differently and he was drafted by Pats etc, I feel he wouldn't be hated like Brady lol.
