  1. One need only look at a former Hawkeye and great Buffalo Bill to see how this can work: Micah Hyde. Hyde was a zone corner before successfully moving over to Safety. DeJean has better tools than Hyde had and therefore warrants a higher selection. No idea where you are getting “tight hips” or “burned by lower level players”. As someone who has watched every game Coop has played, this is demonstrably false. Dejean is also a fantastic punt returner. Tough, smart, and super athletic. He has a real chance to be every bit as good as Hyde.
  2. Wait. Are we counting passes to the other team or no?
  3. Coming away with both Thomas Jr and Baker would be a fantastic result for the Bills.
  4. A trade down is so enticing here, but I voted Legette because I didn’t want to get too cute and miss out on him.
  5. TBD is split! I voted no because I don’t want to give up next year’s 1st. Given the turnover this off-season, there is a reasonable chance that next year’s 1st could be the highest pick the Bills have had among the past few seasons. I think that future pick is more valuable than most are currently projecting. I think the Minnesota 2nd rounder is a very interesting piece. Most will likely project it to be at the top of the 2nd round and so it will have a reasonable trade value. The Minnesota 2nd rounder probably is not enough to get into the top 8 without the Bills’ future 1st… but perhaps it is enough to jump up to grab a Brian Thomas Jr? That I could see. I’d vote “yes” to a trade up, just not as high as proposed.
  6. The Cover1 film room has shown that Brady’s offense almost always spreads targets evenly. That would seem to align with your thinking - and perhaps a hint that we should not expect a blockbuster trade up. I would still bet on a trade up, but not as high as folks might be thinking.
  7. Of course YOU are a fan of it NOW, Captain Hindsight!
  8. The WR room is going to be completely different. Wow.
  9. You are flirting with missing out on the early bird specials.
  10. This explanation, coming from the field goal kick revolutionary, is wonderful. I very much agree. However, one might ask what the heck kind of lane you have picked!
  11. DeJean is a playmaker. A lot of similarities with Hyde.
  12. Too many injuries have happened on those Thanksgiving day games. I’ll take Week 1.
  13. I get the thinking, but the dollars and cents of an extra year on the rookie deal might make such a selection more palatable, especially at the end of round 1. I’m not banging the table for it. Heck, I’m not even advocating for it. I just wouldn’t hate it.
  14. I know many would call it a slight reach, but I would be 100% OK with Pearsall at #28.
  15. This is a bad argument. It WAS a terribly talent deficient offense. That is a HUGE reason one should hold off starting their rookie QB for as long as is prudent.
  16. Not having a first round pick flat out sucks. So much changes from season-to-season and boy does that first rounder help. I am generally against the trading of future firsts. Conversely, I don’t have the same disdain regarding the trading of a current season first rounder. There is a lot less uncertainty with the whole of the roster and so it can make sense from time-to-time (see Diggs). Trading future firsts has a whiff of desperation and I think organizations get themselves into trouble that way. I think we have to consider the following scenario: Bills trade future first, Josh gets badly hurt before the season even starts, and the Bills have a terrible season without the silver lining of a premium pick. That is all entirely in the realm of possibilities. Having the pick is like having an insurance policy.
  17. OP calls McD many things. McD says, “To say we haven't had success or Josh hasn't had success, I think would be kind of narrow-minded. It's hard to win in the NFL, so you kind of regroup every year, and you take it one game at a time.” OP flips out. OP, believe it or not, the people talking on your screen cannot see you.
  18. The way Kincaid catches the ball is… pretty? That video shows smooth hands catch after smooth hands catch. Loved him in the final KC game. The first highlight of that game was Kincaid making an incredibly difficult contested catch that was also at a very clutch moment in that game. I was in attendance and despite already being frozen, it still sent a chill through me. I remember thinking, ‘THAT is exactly why the Bills wanted HIM.’
  19. Build the Jests up now so that the media can make hay about the inevitable in-season fall.
  20. Anything but a WR in the first round is going to make for a looong Friday that draft weekend.
