Wow! That would be a complete surprise. He seems all in to me.  Draft a replacement and give him 2 years to develop. Hyde is still earning his contract.

It would be a total surprise, BUT, the only thing I could think of how this might be true is if we signed JC Jackson. Considering he plays on an island, but we play zone mostly so not exactly sure how that would make much sense unless we plan on playing more man coverage, which I doubt. Unless we allow Jackson to play mostly by himself in a cover 2 setup and just shadow the lesser talented FS somewhere else.

Bills Could Possibly Sign QB Colin Kaepernick as Josh Allen’s Backup

https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/colin-kaepernick-qb-backup-2022/

The article is more of a "Buffalo would be a great place for Kaepernick to revive his career (ala Trubisky)" rather than any actual info or even rumor of this being a possibility. The only evidence given of any connection with the Bills is a tweet from someone at "Circling the Wagons Podcast" saying, "I’d take Colin Kaepernick as the backup QB for the Bills in a heartbeat for the vet minimum."

Sounds more like an agent using media to try and drum up business. Any article that starts with "Could Possibly," is really stretching. Had to qualify it twice.

And the unnamed source quoted by Schefter said, "He would be a great fit for teams with QB vacancies to fill who want to win a Super Bowl."

Seriously?

Would love all these guys minus Braxton Berrios. We can find a WR in the draft. Jahan Dotson WR Penn State.

I just want Jones and Gronk. Add in draft picks & cut FA’s. I don’t obsess about comp picks, but I’d rather have them next year than signing a bunch of scrubs from other teams this year.

But the west is the best coast.  I think it’ll be Denver based on location.

I thought he's want to return home and have a chance to play for a team much closer to winning a SB than Denver.

Not that he didn’t say that…..but I haven’t yet read anything about him wanting to be close to home.  I’ve only seen scheme and contenders as priorities. Has he said he wants to return home?  If so…..

The AFC West is loaded. He would stand a better chance going us. We would be the favorites to win our division again and get to the playoffs. The AFC West is going to beat on each other.

Some people are competitive. He'll get more playing time in Denver on a legit contender, and a chance to play against the best.

My son said last night that the Bills offered Beasley and a 3rd for CMc but the Panthers wanted a 1st.  I didn't see that reported anywhere else so I didn't mention it here.

I thought given all the factors.  But as it usually does, it will probably will come down to money.

He’s been in Arizona for 6 years and doesn’t  want to stay because of scheme. I don’t think location will factor in.

He’s been in AZ and doesn’t want to stay because of scheme…..not location.  After my 9th year on the west coast I knew I didn’t want to go back east.  I’d only move back for 2 reasons. Family and bills football.  He has enough money to relocate his entire family into nice and comfortable weather and doesn’t give a crap about the Bills

Honestly, he’s worth a look.  What’s the harm of bringing him to camp?  Not like there are a ton of exciting options out there.  Bring him and another guy in and see how they compete.  He’s an easy cut if he has little to offer, which is prob what happens, just no harm in taking a peek.

But, even if Bills were willing too, I think Kap is going to hold out until a team calls that could offer an opportunity to win a starting job.  Which I think is a mistake, he should just take what he can get to at least get that foot back into the NFL door and see what happens from there.

I would support kicking the tires here, but ultimately I don’t think it happens.

Even if Kap was more like the same guy he was when he last played, which was a guy who got benched, he would be better than anyone else we could sign.  And his mobility means the offense doesn’t have to change a lot.

Could be good for laughs when he gets cut.
