GunnerBill
Just listening to the post game show and Mike Schopp said Jerry Hughes ends up on the Bills Wall of Fame. So what say you?
delirious
He certainly won't be up there before Kyle Williams. If it was my choice, him, Meatball, and Eric Wood would all be there. Realistically, I only see Meatball getting up there, so I voted no.
RobbRiddicksTDLeap
I want to say Yes, but that’s some hallowed ground. His value often goes unrecognized on stat sheets, but without him this defense would be lost. 1

MarlinTheMagician
I am a yes - what a monster he was last night. Has come a long, long way from the "personal foul a game" Jerry drag racing with Dareus. Hothead to emotional leader, great evolution over his career. Beast
I have to agree. The guy, IMO, has always brought maximum effort.

MJS
I don't think so. Hughes hasn't ever made the pro bowl or first or second team All-Pro. He is 5th all time for Bills in sacks with 51, which is good but not great. He is a solid player though.
Brennan Huff
I don’t think so. He’s been a great player for us for a long time but that alone doesn’t get you up there. Kyle Williams needs to go up. He was a leader on this team from damn near day

SirAndrew
I’m good with, but then again I’m feeling a little fired up after that win. I’d exclude all drought era players, and leave more room for some of these guys. Edited January 17, 2021 by SirAndrew

SageAgainstTheMachine
I love Jerry but I voted no. My friends and I love to debate which baseball players are Hall of Fame and which guys are "Hall of Very Good". It's the same principal here for me, Jerry is "Wall of Very Good". The only standard is that you know it when you see it.

Buddo
Yes. Eventually. He's been 100% effort all the way, allied to a fair bit of skill. Effort wise, the guy is relentless. If not for having crossed the zebras somehow, (even before the tunnel 'incident') how much better would his career look if he got just some of the holding calls he's been due. Also, he's the best value trade we've ever made, imho. Note the 'value' part. (Diggs might just surpass him in that eventually.)
mannc
Let him in! For seven seasons, he’s been the Bills’ best edge rusher. Best trade in team history—except the trade up from 12 to 7.

H2o
Getting Hughes for what we did is one of the most lopsided trades in the history of this team, in our favor of course. He's been an excellent player for years. WOF worthy? Maybe, when it's all said and done. He still has time to finish his story. At this point I say the jury is still out. T master
Yes if for nothing else just for giving the Bills all he has for as long as he has the guy is all out Buffalo Bills and even when he was hurt last season left his guts on the field every game . Remember last season how some here were saying he's done they need to get rid of him BLAH BLAH BLAH Just Bills fans being Bills fans i know but this dude is 1 of a kind and for me is in the same category as Kyle Williams . If there is 1 thing i do wish is that Kyle could have been playing with these guys still to have this experience !!
Brianmoorman4jesus
I feel like the trade for Hughes was the beginning of this team not being a joke anymore. I know it wasn’t BECAUSE of that trade, that just goes hand and hand with the timeline for me personally. Hughes has been very steady and has made big time plays in big games. He will end up high up on the Bills all time sack leaders and has been a part of some really good Bills teams. It seems like he’s taken over the veteran vocal leadership role that was voided by Kyle and The Lorax. Hughes has really matured on the field and has been a really good Bill. I’d put him up. fasteddie
I voted no because he has disappeared in too many games over the last few years. He is paid a ton of money to be an impact player. Not someone who makes one or two tackles a game and no sacks for weeks at a time. That is not WOF worthy.

billsfan89
I think so, his sack numbers aren't huge (51 sacks in 8 seasons) but he has been the heart and soul of the defense for the past 8 seasons and has been the emotional leader of the McD defense from 2017-2020 while being a key component of strong defenses in 2013 and 2014. I assume he will at least play one more season so that would leave him with 9 or more seasons played. An impressive resume that I do think is Wall of Fame Worthy. His QB pressure’s are underrated, he may not get the sacks but he forces QB’s to get the ball out fast forcing mistakes. He is good in run support and is a smart player. He is definitely a top 12 DE and a very good player.

And nobody else in the league thinks that either or he would have gone to a pro bowl by now. He does get pressure sometimes (and disappears in some games too). And that's good. I like Hughes. He is a good player. He just isn't elite. That's perfectly fine.
Freddie's Dead
As I think about this more, AyAyRon Schobel should go on the Wall before Jerry. Right now, Schobel has more seasons and more sacks for the Bills.
