Admittedly didn’t watch his film as much, and only just now digging in. He makes plays. He understand leverage, he tracks the football and balls that hit his hands stay in his hands. AGG and DPJ are probably better athletes. But they haven't shown me they can play football as well as Gabe Davis. I have no problem with someone saying about one of the other two "they are not as good now but their ceiling is still higher" but when you put the tape on and ask who is a better football player right here, right now? It's Davis. 3

Folks focus too much on listed height when they should be focused on play style. Diggs is 6'0", but he plays "big". Steve Smith is 5'9", but he played big too. They go get the rock under any circumstances, coverage be damned. Plenty of 6'2 - 6'4" receivers don't play big. Bills fans have seen our share of that. Bleeding Bills Blue
Gonna be tough for Foster, McKenzie and Duke to make this team. The 6th rounder guy likely hits the practice squad, but Davis will be on the 53. Duke made a few plays but he projects as a very similar player to Davis. He or foster may end up on PS as well. Gonna come down to camp obviously, but McKenzie's quickness isn't replaced by any of these guys, and he's a solid jet motion guy who's quick and hard to tackle.

BurpleBull
Gabriel Davis was my Nathan Peterman pick at WR during this year's draft process. So was JaMychal Hasty at RB, but I'm not sure if he was drafted.

That was the year of the “big receiver” and there ended up being a bunch of busts, including Hardy and Sweed. edit: Devin Thomas, Malcom kelly, James Hardy, and Limas Sweed— everyone was after the “big” receiver that year. There were a ton drafted in the first two rounds. Ironically, out of that supposedly deep WR draft class, only the “smurfs” had productive NFL careers (DeSean Jackson and Eddie Royal). Motor26
Surprised they based on Gandy-Golden for Davis. But clearly Beane liked him better. We will see. Training camp should be interesting. Bucs1
Bucs / UCF fan...First post here...only signed up to simply say congratulations on a great draft, and particularly selecting Gabe where you did. You just got Brandon Marshall physically and Jerry Rice mentality wise. No BS. This kid is special. Its been reported since he stepped foot on campus he was early to every practice on the jugs machine and stayed late every day doing the same. He did this his whole time at UCF. Any time during offseason and bowl prep this kid stayed inside watching film with coaches. Take it FWIW, I’m not a homer type fan but this kid’s talent was something special to watch and I was hoping like hell the Bucs would snag him.....and Killins who Philly got. 10

Not great out of breaks (so not much separation). Good hands. Physical and high points well. When UCF needed a play he is who they looked at. Limited route tree though. Out classes most competitors but will need developing to succeed in NFL Think this is absolutely right. And when his team needed a play he usually made one. He just finds a way to produce. Agree they need to focus on working on his footwork. Both off the line and in and out of breaks. That is stuff that is coachable.
