Maybe.  

 

I'm okay with it, on the principle that if you don't run the ball out of the end zone you're de facto giving yourself up for a touchback.  But I'm not sure that's what the rules actually say.

I’d be very curious the technical definition 

 

fair catch or kneel I’m aware of but that’s a new one. Not saying it’s not the proper execution of the rule but the announcers explanation was unacceptable

I think that instead they want to use the “assume his intent” approach which I don’t think should fly in a game of rules and architecture.

They should.  That kickoff, despite the ultimate ruling by the officials, show them that the Bills are far better prepared for this game than they are.
