YoloinOhio
I feel like it means nothing but if we lose then we won’t have a winning record in our division. That would suck but still meaningless. I kind of like that 11-5 vibe more than 10-6 too.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce
Bills have yet to decide if starters will play in Week 17 The game has no bearing on the team’s season. Buffalo has already constructed its best record of the century and has secured a playoff berth, a win in the final game of the season would do nothing but send the boisterous New Era Field crowd home happy. Giving key players such as Josh Allen, Tremaine Edmunds, and Tre’Davious White a week of rest and more time to prepare for the Bills’ postseason opponent would likely prove more beneficial than sending them out against the struggling Jets. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2019/12/22/buffalo-bills-starters-week-17-jets/amp/ the lines I've seen are Bills -1 to Bills -1.
whatdrought
I think the starters will start, but that josh’ll Be pulled after a drive or two, and the rest will face a heavy rotation.

SlimShady'sSpaceForce
The Jets beat the Steelers and played spoiler to them. that just won’t matter for the Bills beyond optics. Will they play to win or preserve a draft spot?
Sammy Watkins' Rib
I would play the starters for the first half. Pretty sure that is the recipe that New England has always gone with. Now of course they've also had the bye week in the first round. Maybe play our guys for a quarter? I just don't love sitting our guys for the entire game. We are not an established team yet. Especially on offense. We continue to grow every week on offense. Take at least part of the final regular season game to continue to do that. 5 minutes ago, SlimShady'sGhost said: Will they play to win or preserve a draft spot? This game is important for Darnold's growth. And Gase and the entire offense for that matter. I expect them to put 100% effort in on that side of the ball at least.

The defense doesn't control the clock or put the points up. Beside that being favorites with potential back ups in play is something.
thebandit27
There's absolutely no reason to play the starters. At all. There is, however, a great opportunity to get some live reps for guys like Barkley, Yeldon, Bates, Boettger, Duke, etc that are one play away from being in the thick of playoff action. 12

Big Turk
Interested to see if Barkley can shred the Jets D again like he did in his first start last year a few days after joining the team. 4 minutes ago, thebandit27 said: There's absolutely no reason to play the starters. I want the backups to get live reps in case they are needed to play a big role if injuries strike during a playoff game. Would much rather have a guy coming in cold off the bench a week after he played an entire game of reps versus coming in cold when he hasn't played much all season. badassgixxer05
Have they announced if starters are playing or not? Its a hard call. hemma
I'd like to see Johnson play and sit Hughes. Also like to see Boetteger play at LG and let Spain sit. loveorhatembillsfan4life
We might as well sit Taron Johnson because I am sure someone will come up with brilliant strategy of having him covering Hopkins if we play the Texans Wild Card.
Mark Vader
I think a majority of the starters should play for at least the first quarter. I would rest Frank Gore, Lorenzo Alexander, Jerry Hughes & John Brown.

Yobogoya! Bingo. Also, maybe not the worst thing to let Josh view from the sideline to get another perspective. He's still young. Well, they did play McCown (I think - some bad player not named Darnold, anyway) that week, and Darnold has been decent in most games this year accounting for mono and BB. Jerboski
If we lose does it help our draft spot, if so there is no reason to try and win this game... seed in playoffs is locked up, injury concerns and draft order is benefitted by losing

There's something to be said for momentum and confidence heading into the play offs. Also, how well has buffalo done with extra rest? Not great. Give rest to some who are hurting, but play the rest and play to win. 11-5. let's go!

BuffaloBaumer
It would be idiotic to play any starter for this game, total idiocy.
