He’s 33, has a record of 27-11, and just went to the SB.  I guess he could have won SBs both years. Some of you have insane expectations.

Probably should have just drafted him instead of trading up for Zay.

Doesn’t qualify as a genius to me. He has had a couple nice years. To become a genius you need a pedigree over a long period of time. Just my opinion. He’s off to a nice start. That’s it.

I'll bet the Rams don't even make the playoffs this year.

I’ll take that bet. What you wanna wager? Avatar choice or something?

That’s about as good of a start as any coach ever.

Insane but it’s a team coming off a SB.  Probably hoping they will be low 1sts and maybe it’s puts them over the top.  Having a shut down cb can really help your pass rush.

All of your posts on this are looking at it in a vacuum. If this was the Rams big splash move to try and win a Super Bowl, fine. The issue is they are going 5 consecutive years without a 1st round pick, along with other mid round picks, and they just made Goff the highest paid QB in history. That is not a sustainable team strategy. If they win the Super Bowl this year then it won't matter. If they don't their window is immediately over and they will be terrible for years.

I don’t necessarily disagree but your team isn’t just built on 1st round picks.  Kupp was a 3rd rounder. They signed Woods. They traded for Cooks, a former 1st rounder.  They signed Talib.

Plenty of other ways to build your team. I think it is a really high price but odds are the Jags aren’t going to get a better player than Ramsey with those picks (though I completely understand why they did it).

It only takes one to set the market. Levitre. Whitner. Clements. All players that were overpaid. Ramsey is a great player. But not worth two picks. But just like Watkins, the trade is over. Now you just have to evaluate his play on the field. Peters was terrible and they at least got a LB for him. Talib can still return. The Rams just need a way to sneak into the playoffs and get healthy later in the season. Remember Cooper Kupp is still coming back from injury and missed the playoffs last year.  I won't fault a team that is this close to another SB for going all in. Would I have made the trade. Nope, but at the same time I can see why they did.

Dumb trade. Overpaid at RB, QB already and both are regressing. NO 1st round pick for the next 2 year to restock roster. Rams about to sitting in basement of the NFC WEST for a while

The problem is I think Goff might be the worst QB in that division.

Yeah it certainly looks that way by dropping two in a row and being well behind Seattle and SF; both of whom beat the Rams already this season.

just pack it up and head home I guess. Lost two in a row before the half way mark? ::eye roll::

I don’t know if Ramsey is the guy but we both know there’s a ton of football left

As good as Jalen Ramsey is, I would be furious if Beane traded two ones for any player that isn’t a QB or out-of-his-mind dominant pass rusher like Khalil Mack. And even the pass rusher would leave me nervous. Corners are valuable, but no corner impacts a game enough to warrant that kind of draft capital. Not Deion or Revis. None of them. There are ways to work the offense around/away from a good corner. Happens all the time.

They're inconsistent and Ramsey won't make that much of a difference.  The Rams will not be part of the NFC playoffs this year.

They've had OL issues all year and their offense got exposed in the super bowl.  Wait until 15 seconds left on the play clock and Goff's mic cuts out then line up in your real formation.

I don't see how Ramsey addresses any of this.

Jimmy G threw for 243 yards, 0 td's, and an interception... I don't think Cornerback fixes what ails them.

If they have a corner like Ramsey, they can play everything else differently.  Truth

You call them inconsistent but 80% of the league is inconsistent and 10% is consistently bad.

they are 1 game out with 10 to play. They might not make it but they definitely have a great chance

i'd say there is about a 10% chance that Jax hits on either one of those draft picks turning into a pro bowl player at any position.

i prefer the sure thing of a 24 year old all pro. especially at a position like CB

10%? No reason to think so. Five of the 32 1st rounders drafted in 2018 have already made a Pro Bowl. Seven from 2017. Seven from 2016, ten from 2015, seventeen from 2014, twelve from 2013, thirteen from 2012, and I could go on. More like a 30 - 40% chance each of those two years. Not to mention that they also get a 4th rounder. Great trade for Jax for a very unhappy player.

Yeah, but in fairness, he said that before the 2018 season.

This is a big deal for the Bills.  The Rams will be forced to make him the highest paid cornerback.   Tre will expect similar.

I don’t know that we go THERE. We got Tre with a late 1st, for 5 relatively cheap years. If the price is too high, I bet they try to do that again. They have a serious knack for spotting DB’s. We don’t need the 100% shutdown guy like some schemes. A great zone CB who can also cover can do the job.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope we can keep Tre when the time comes, but I doubt they are held hostage and are forced to overpay in a crazy way.

That's nice and all, but the fact they can't protect Goff and their RB has the knees of a 60 y/o, this is dumb!

I agree, this is dumb

LOL, why do you think there is anything wrong with ones knees at 60? Mine at 63 are as good as at 23. No one in their 40's, 50's, 60's etc is as athletic as in their 20's,  but it's not like arthritis starts setting in when you hit 60. In fact, I climbed a 14er in CO a couple years ago, no problem. 60 sounds old until you get there. If one halfway takes care of oneself, you'll be surprised how it isn't. Perhaps you meant a 90 y/o.   ?

It’s happening: Former Jaguars’ CB Jalen Ramsey is being traded to the LA Rams for two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021, source tells ESPN.

Wow! Didn't see that coming.

Guess his back is better now ;)
