Exactly, it was basically a temper tantrum to get what he wanted. What WR wouldn’t want to play on the Pats?

Im not convinced this was ABs specific plan but it was clear that he was acting in a way to get him out of there.  He did the same in Pittsburgh

Even if that is true, this still happened extremely fast.  I am convinced Brown knew what was happening all along and was doing everything in his power to get released.  He finally found something that worked and here we are.

And you may be right, and I may have been totally completely wrong that he was cray cray and unfiltered and couldn't help behaving like a jerk.

If he goes to NE and behaves himself perfectly and says all the correct things when others get the ball - we'll know.

Unbelievable, the Steelers have to dump a star play for less than market value & then the Raiders give up draft picks for nothing. Now the lickbags swoop in & get him for nothing. No way in hell there wasn't some previous contact with his agent & him---that's tampering. When are the other owners & the worthless commissioner going to stand up to these guys ?  By the way---what happened to the sex case with Robert Kraft ?  If it was a player do you think he would have been suspended by now ?

Can we finally stop with the AB threads for awhile? I effing hate this guy :death:

Sorry I grew tired of batting you around like a ball of string and went for a ride.

Hes made 70 million.  He didn’t want to play with Derek Carr. He gave up money to get out.  It’s been done before...

LOL!  You're as delusional as your hero.  The fact is he lost $21M with his "crazy like a fox" move.

First the Raiders give the Pat's Moss for dirt... now they give them AB for nothing. The f'n Raiders keep screwing everyone else over with their dysfunction.

Don’t forget the dynasty started with the tuck rule against the raiders.  The Pats have bent them over.

Yeah, good karma.  If a Bill gets inured now, I’ll blame the scumbags in this thread wishing injury on human beings.

what is wrong with some of you? It’s game that you don’t even play in.

When the first Bill goes down injured you can blame me, skumbag #1.

OMG, this crap again.  If you can’t recognize why NE is completely different than Buffalo, I really have no idea what to tell you. 15-17 and Josh Allen vs. 6 SBs, Belichick, and Brady.  AB will be cut if he farts in a meeting.  In Buffalo and Oakland, would have to kiss his butt and he’d still pull crap.  Different leagues homeboy.

The whole "Oh the Patriots** way will straighten out player X, they won't stand for it" is a false narrative IMO.   The players stop acting like idiots once they have the oppty to win a ring.

Other teams could have signed him. I really don’t get why people get upset by this.

How do you know other teams didn't inquire? We'll know soon enough and why he just waited on the Pats. It happened so quickly, as if the contract was already drawn up a month ago.

Solid points.  I guess the NFL should at least investigate but I think it will be hard to prove.  Literally everyone though he would be a Pat eventually.

Pats are $4.9m under cap...how can they afford a $24m AB contract?

Screenshot_20190907-144615.png

That's the real reason AB won't play...the Pats likely got some contract reno's and manipulation to do.

But the contract is rumored to be "up to" $15M with a $9M bonus.  So in theory....$5M could be performance bonuses cleverly structured to fit the league's "unlikely to be achieved" milestone but seen as achievable for AB, and they could put a phantom year on there to amortize his $9M signing bonus, now his cap hit is $5.5M and they have to come up with a measly $0.6M.  Chump change.

Bell left money on the table, millions, as well....but he didn’t have but a small fraction of AB money in the bank.  That was pretty dumb given the nature of the RB position.

i guess any of us shlubs could never conceive of giving up millions but his bank account gives him that luxury.  Plus you don’t know that he won’t ultimately make as much in NE

But the real question is why aren’t you glad the patriots have cancer now?

Beause this was all staged... he went from a malignant cancer on one team, to a benign cancer on another.

AB will not be a problem for the Patsies.

Whoever merged these goddamn threads made me completely lose my place where I was reading through them. Frustrating

Brown being released and Brown signing with a different team are two distinct things that deserved their own threads

Gotta wonder what would happen if a white Steelers or Chargers player used a racial slur against Tomlin or Lynn.  Or wiretapped?  Jeez.  There should a be a suspension coming down................but there won't be, because BIG NAME PLAYER to NFL's TEAM.

Coaches and defenders all over the league are probably about fed up with the Patriots as well. I have a feeling the Patriots have finally crossed a line and everything is going to CRASH at some point this season, likely by way of Brady getting career'd.

I have a feeling they might win another SB.

Wow.  I forgot about that!  This kind of crap is pushing me more and more away from this league.  This crap is literally ruining my love for the game, Bills or no Bills.  Last year was the first year I didn't pay attention to the Super Bowl.  I'll watch college games and I'm getting more into baseball this year.  The hell with the NFL.

Well unlike real cancer you can just ignore AB. Let him call you a cracker. Let him not show up if he doesn’t want to. No need to let the patriots have him for free.

I'd have no problem with them bringing him to Buffalo........Josh Allen NEEDS playmakers to elevate his game IMO........... but IMO AB wasn't coming here for anything close to market value and vastly overpaying creates it's own disincentive(I still think the ridiculous deal the Pegs gave Rex contributed to his disinterest in putting in the effort at a time when he needed a push.......which is kinda' where AB seems to be at as a player).
