One thing I know about Kelly is he loves the herb and was a certain receiver's, who I will just call Rammy Motkins hook up when he was a Bill.

Jim Kelly and the rest of his family have been trying to get through to Chad for YEARS and it hasn’t worked. I don’t see why it would be any different now if he came to buffalo.... The kid has been in trouble everywhere he goes, and especially in buffalo.

Jim even had to vouch for Chad on draft night. John Elway called Jim before drafting him. Once again, Chad didn’t live up to his word.

Buffalo isn’t bringing him in anyway so it’s not even worth thinking about.

This sucks the most out of everything.  Jim stuck his neck out and Chad pissed on the gift that was handed to him.

I would actually bring him in. I'd love to watch him play for us this season to see how good he is. Especially if Allen ends up being out longer than expected or gets hurt again. Christ, I need some entertainment this season and I ain't getting that watching Anderson play.

I'd take a shot on him.  Bring him in and let him sit the bench the rest of the year.  If he stays out of trouble, give him a chance to compete next year.  Of course, he'd probably beat out the competition, including Allen, which would make McBean look bad...so that means he's never going to be a Bill.

Wow some of you guys. Guess all of McDermott’s “culture” and “character” talk you all love to defend doesn't matter a lick when jimbo’s blood is involved.

Are you sure it's the same posters?

Actually his mom is a teacher and dad works at Wegman’s, and has for many years,  and Chad has played where he played based on his own abilities, so...

Yeah, he's been kicked off his team in High School, College and the NFL because he's misunderstood.  Got it

I'm sure being Jim's nephew hasn't bought him 3rd, 4th and 5th chances.  Proof is in the pudding my friend.

According to Mike Klis of 9News.com, Kelly and his girlfriend attended Von Miller‘s Halloween party on Monday evening. During the party, Kelly reportedly began acting in a hostile and aggressive manner. Via James Palmer of NFL Media, Kelly was involved in a physical altercation with another guest at the party. While being escorted out, Kelly reportedly was involved in a separate altercation with security officials who had been hired to work the event.

Klis reports that security officials tried to keep Kelly in the building where the party was held to allow him to calm down. Kelly, however, broke away and entered a home nearly a block away.

Inside the home, a woman was sitting on a couch holding her young child. Kelly allegedly sat next to her. The woman called for a man in the house, who entered the room and struck Kelly with a metal tube from a vacuum cleaner.

Kelly then exited the home (he didn’t know the residents) and returned to the site of the party. He was prepared to leave the premises by Uber when police arrested him and charged him with criminal trespass.

WTF?

Don't you think Uncle Jim has more pressing problems in life rather than being a full time babysitter to some disaffected millennial???

They come from the same tree, different eras.

If  the Jim Kelly of old was a kid in College or young player in the NFL he wouldn’t be as bad as Chad but he’d be catching some flack for his off the field activities.

No doubt about it, the kid is talented. I would have had no issues using a 4th round pick on him in that draft. Now, we can have him without giving up anything. Why not take a chance? Hopefully the front office has already reached out.

Elway won a superbowl while Jim couldn't. How sweet would it be to ultimately win a championship with JK's nephew after he was cut by Elway. I realize that's jumping ahead and dreaming,  but man would it be awesome.

I loved Chad in college and he's got the talent but they may be an underlying drug problem that we are not fully aware of here.  Some people can dip their toes in the water with drugs and have it not really affect them.  Others get a taste and it becomes their lives.  I think this kid probably needs to address some deeper issues before he see a football field again.

This does seem like a Manziel or Josh Gordon level problem, at least.

Exactly.  Zay Jones made one mistake.  CK has been kicked off a high school..college..and NFL team for acting like a knucklehead.  And Kelly has done nothing so far in the NFL.  Peterman looked amazing in pre season as well.  If his name wasnt Kelly no one would care.  With that said...if the Bill's wanted to bring him in I dont take issue with it.  But there is literally no evidence he is better then anything we have...hes barely even played.  Could he be good of course..but let's not get ridiculous here.

All those guys you mentioned had a track record of talent in the league.  Your saying Kelly has enough talent?  Hes never even started a game.  You guys are laughable.

"you guys"? what guys are those? the burgeoning Chad Kelly fan club? LOL I really didn't know he existed until about 2 months ago. I'm just throwing it out there as a discussion point. Bring him in or not , I don't really care that much either way. However to say that Kelly is any more of an idiot or dbag than say Vick, Peterson or Jones is just silly. And to say that what he did is any more crazy than Zay jones is also not being fair.  Finally saying that Kelly is probably better than Peterman or Anderson is just being honest.  Its just a hypothetical discussion anyway because  McJesus and Co would never give him a chance. Kelly's sins are probably unpardonable in their eyes and they have proven themselves somewhat clueless at assessing offensive talent!

I am in no way saying sign him but if he were to change his life I would say the Bills would probably know first with Uncle Jim

The last people I would trust to give an objective assessment would be family.

It's also rooted in some weird vendetta against Elway. Why do I care he won a superbowl? He was never anyone that held the Bills or Jim Kelly back during their run.

The fact this spoiled brat who likes to talk about guns and spraying up clubs got cut by him doesn't add anything to it.

Chad Kelly is a douche bag. How anyone can root for him or like him, I don't understand. He threatens people, runs out on to high school fields. He's openly aggressive towards society.

This isn't a drug problem, this is an ***** with a drug problem. I always wish people can clean themselves up who may have substance abuse issues. I hope he can get clean if that is the case, but he is also an ass. I won't root for him beyond getting clean and the help he might need. That's if he does.

Well, some of his issues are actually more likely rooted in societal norms and expectations of what defines masculinity, but we won't get into that on a football discussion board.

Yea, he has made some mistakes, but nothing unforgivable, especially considering the number of guys that get second and third chances after beating their kids,  raping women, and punching/strangling their significant others. By comparison,  Chad Kelly is a saint.

And you want to talk about douche bags? Eli Manning and Bryce Harper are likely the two biggest douch bags in all of professional sports, but they're happily employed.

Lucky he only got hit with a vacuum cleaner tube.

Hmmmmm, the guy's wife was busy looking after the young child. He wanted some female attention but she's busy in mom mode, so he goes upstairs with the vacuum cleaner? Then just happened to have the tube in his hand when Chad came calling? I'm starting to see why the guy was so angry with Chad. It wasn't because he trespassed on his property, it's because he was forced to turn the vacuum cleaner off before he 'finished'.

Yeah, for sure.

Heres what Elway said after drafting Chad -

Quote

“I called his uncle, and he said he’s a good kid,” Elway said after the 2017 draft. “I said, ‘OK. That’s all I need.’ I trust Jim with that. I think that obviously there’s been some history there, but we felt comfortable that Chad understands what he’s been through and is ready to take this step and realizes the step that he’s taking. It’s got to be a little bit different than it was when he was in college. We’re fully confident that Chad is going to be able to come up here and understand the situation that he’s in.”

I’d be pretty pissed off right now if I were Jim Kelly...

Chad appears to have a lot of growing up to do still.

Sad part is that one day he will most likely look back and realize what he squandered.

He is a good QB, has the talent and was probably afforded more opportunity than most because of his last name, yet he pissed it all away (so far, anyway...).

I hope this kid wakes up before this all passes him by, if it hasn’t already.
