He knows we’re not going to pay him so he’s Le’Veon Bell-ing it without losing game checks

He has apparently decided he can live off the money he has already made, because he’s making zero case for even a vet minimum contract.

When playing well, he's on the bubble of being a #1.

He's not playing well right now. Hopefully he'll get things righted.

Question:  Has KB ever been functionally a #1 WR?  Seems to me even in his highly successful rookie season when he tied for top receiving yards on the team, Olsen (TE) was functionally the #1.  Has KB ever drawn the consistent attentions of the opposing team's top CB, and thrived?

Clay. McCoy.

But right now he's not seeing all the field. Nobody's playing well on that side of the ball.

Seems to me that Clay has had some key drops also, though he seems to be better the last couple games.

The discussion of whether Benjamin is a #1 receiver like arguing whether Forrest Gump is a MENSA member. It is an extreme stretch. The more realistic argument is whether Benjamin is a #2 receiver. Even with the lower standard he doesn' qualify to meet that benchmark. Usually, #2 receivers are high volume receivers who don't often make the big plays. He certainly doesn't even fall in that category.

Because of our qb play it is going to bet tough for any of our receivers to attain good numbers. But what is starkly apparent is that he has no wiggle ability and just can't get open. As a receiver that is a fatal flaw regardless who is throwing to him.

Ridiculous!

Again, if true -AND- there isn’t something else Benjamin is working on, then I think he’ll get the Dareus treatment soon (traded for little or cut). When the team’s identity is try-hard and a starter isn’t, they won’t be able to stand for that.

Need to be careful here, context of Benjamin’s response is important and we don’t know what that was.  Could have been “No man, I’m working with the trainer”

  • 26CornerBlitz changed the title to Kelvin Benjamin is NOT a Number 1 WR - Refused to Work on Routes with Allen in Pregame

Well the words out of McDermotts own mouth were, they don’t need to be choir boys, but they must love to play football. In other words be committed to watching film, practicing hard and getting better every day.  That’s probably the opposite of KB.

Cut that loser and get Reilly back on this team.  At least that dude worked hard and could catch.

He’s a real student of the game!

and I’m 100% ok with dumping worthless Kelvin but how about replacing him with a legit nfl talent?  This Reilly stuff is cult like.  You can do so much better.

I agree with Mort, Allen hasn't earned his stripes yet to go up to the vets and say "hey we're doing _____" KB13 is a scrub though for this and it's the cherry on top to his **** attitude and performance.  He's going to be out of the league in 2 years.  Next year he'll enter FA looking for 15 mil a year blaming everybody but himself for his poor stats.  He'll end up with a 1 year prove it deal and he'll have another **** year, and be out of the league.

This guy looks slow, does not make plays for his QB not to mention he has compete and focus issues.

No way I sign him to a big deal.

He is not even a backup WR at this point. I would be shocked if anyone offered him vet minimum next year. The Bills would be better off cutting him and adding a street free agent to start in his place.

He should have said yes regardless. There's no excuse for him with the obvious lack of timing and chemistry between the two.  Do whatever is asked to help Allen!

He is definitely hurting his market value next year - does not make any sense.

Forget a #1 WR, is he even a starting WR? Seriously?

He’s not even a number 5 WR. At best he is a jump ball in the red zone WR. He doesn’t play up to his size and struggles with contested catches so I don’t know if he can even do that.

And if Beane and McDermott truly believe in the Culture, then they should deactivate Benajmin for this game and then keep him inactive for the rest of the year...Don't cut him..

Too late for today with the inactive list already announced.
