npeartisgod
Definitely one of the worst vibes at the Ralph. More weird plays than I’ve ever seen in one game. But, how on EARTH, does an incomplete pass get turned into forward progress first down? Anyone? Zag20
I getyou, it was a fumble maybe but probably an incompletion. Then, they announce a fourth down and then suddenly they’re lining up for 1st and 10 with no pause or explanation at all. GrimboG
I did not get that call at the time and still don't! Where were they on the field at that point? I can't remember what the 4th down or incompletion game situation would have been
DrPJax
Guy actually made catch. He was touched on replay but his butt was far enough for the first down. The refs made a mistake announcement according to New York/ ref in the booth. 9

The game was, for the most part, terribly officiated. Nothing new there. I liked the "TD" the Bills scored which was then taken away, seeing as the Bronco who "Fumbled" was down by contact about as much as you can be "down" and for several seconds before the ball came out. I still can't believe someone called that a TD. 1
Ethan in Cleveland
It was a catch. It was not a fumble as his butt was on the ground. And where he caught the ball was forward progress for the first down. The only mistake was they announced 4th down. But it was correct call and correct spot of the ball. 1 4

I still can't believe someone called that a TD. I give credit to the ref who called it a touchdown. Many times there’s a questionable play, the refs look at each other and nobody makes a call. Or one of them blows their whistle when they shouldn’t have. They allowed the play to finish to completion. If it was later ruled a fumble, the Bills would’ve had the TD. If it wasn’t called a TD, but ruled a fumble and they gave the Bills possession, they would mark it at th3 point of the fumble.
Joe Ferguson forever
that and the PI on Taron. Refs gave the game away. 2 2 1
billyudi
I’d have to see it again, I never thought it was a fumble but an incompletion. It seemed like they used forward progress as the reason why he didn’t have to maintain possession when he hit the ground? Seems iffy. Denver thought so too and rushed to get a play in and ended up with a false start.
MPT
That, and the penalty on Taron that just changed the outcome of the game. Why bother with 3 hours of playing football if the refs are just going to decide the game anyway? 1

The Taron call was iffy and you play on in that situation, first off Wilson just threw it up and Taron did turn around but receiver went into him. Either way McDermott should have never called an all out blitz.
CountDorkula
Are we seriously blaming this game on the refs when the Broncos had 11 penalties in the bills had like four. Get your heads out of your asses and stop blaming the officials and start blaming the coaching staff and the personnel. This entire team needs a Gutting and rebuild. 3 2

It has been shady for us. Some of the calls and non calls are mind boggling. Makes me feel like they are tired of The Bills and want to ensure "new blood" is in the playoff picture this year. Obviously we are in such a hole now that they will surely get what they want. 2 1

While it certainly looked like he was going to interfere with him, when you see the replay he did about as little as you can do on an underthrown jump ball. The NFL should really clean that up. The offense shouldn’t be rewarded for tossing up what is really just a prayer.

BillsFanNC
If the Bills are ever going to get the elusive Super Bowl then we need a team that makes bad officiating irrelevant. Bad officiating is a constant that will never change. When you play poorly, a variable completely under your control, you make bad officiating more of a factor. Of course there's always the chance that egregiously poor officiating can sink a team running on all cylinders, but that's a risk we all take investing in a sport that has become increasingly like pro wrestling with each passing year. May Day 10
Miami beat that team by 50. If we are complaining that the Bills lost because the way someone's butt landed, then maybe the Bills failed.

But the way it was called was correct, though the Broncos had a gripe for not knowing till a bit of time had passed that it was considered a first down. It was not incomplete. Reviews backed it up. He caught it, held it for several steps, was tackled, and after his arm hit the ground ending the play, he fumbled it. And he caught the pass beyond the first down marker, moving backwards, so it was correctly a forward progress first down.

When it happened it looked wildly obvious. In slo-mo, Taron barely hit him before twisting his head around to pretend to look backwards for the ball. They couldn't have made a no call on it. Taron did prevent him from catching the ball and he did hit him while still looking at him while the ball was still in the air. I thought that was the game until the Football Gods leaned down, and said, "Just 'cause we like you, here's the win, Bills," and the Bills said, "Hey, thanks, but no thanks." God what a horrible horrible ending. 10 minutes ago, May Day 10 said: Miami beat that team by 50. It was close to a great play but it was PI. Lay the blame where it belongs. Allen and McDermott. Allen has now lost two games nearly himself - Jets and Broncos. Hard to assign all the blame on McD and the defense for this game as they kept them in it until the end. But again just like Pats game(and countless others), the D choked. But the Bills get a Broncos team at home on primetime... and look like.... that. 4 turnovers. They deserved to lose the game. It would have been a 'stolen win', same as against the Giants. This team is what they appear to be. It isnt very good and probably slots in in the 3rd quartile of the league.
