Is Josh becoming too commercialized?

I’m big on Josh Allen, love his competitive nature, amazed by his abilities but it seems like since the Britney split he’s going pretty deep on posing and modeling. I’ll admit that he looked great at the Kentucky Derby but his poses are a little too much for my liking and now I just a post on IG for caps and it was like this guy thinks he’s a model now. Sorry, don’t like it, flame me all you want but I just want him to concrete on being a rough and tough QB who plows through defenders, not a guy sitting in a armchair posing waiting on GQ to give him a call. The clothes and such are nice but truth be told the only thing that I want to see him modeling is a Super Bowl ring.

These guys need to eat, sleep, and breathe football!  There is absolutely no time, whatsoever, for any offseason interests outside of lifting weights, throwing footballs and bashing homers and Micah's thing! /s

These guys are more than just football players.  They are people with families, interests, hobbies, entrepreneurial spirit, etc.  I have no doubts that Josh, and others like Pat Mahomes (who also is all over the place) are putting in the work to be ready for the season and to be at their best.  Lifting weights and doing some football activity takes maybe 3-4 hours on a given day?

I'd much rather have a QB that flies under the radar and doesn't get endorsements...

Upstanding young fellows like JP Losman, Trent Edwards, EJ Manuel, etc that will help us to win 7 games and be solidly "In the Hunt" through Week 16

Then we can all go back to sleep for 17 years and set our alarm clocks for Sunday 1 PM games every week

SMFH

If all his "modeling" means he is going to stop "concret[ing] on being a rough and tough QB who plows through defenders" and concentrate on being a pocket passer who plays until hes 40 then get him on the runway ASAP.

But seriously OP, you've outdone yourself today.

Games start in August.  Meaningful games start in September.  Until then, you should get a hobby that occupies your time, not the next person’s.

The guy is entitled to down time and fun...can't run thru linebackers all day, every day. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Exactly. Plus, he can lead a life that the majority of us can't. In his 20's and financially set for life. Why wouldn't he have fun.

I don’t care what Josh Allen does in his free time if he can revert back to his late 2021/early 2022 form. If his game starts to slip, or his perceived regression continues, then we can start questioning how much football is at the forefront of his life. He said he’s never been more dialed in so I’ll take him at his word and expect to see a superstar leading the way in a few months.

Well, you certainly got a reaction.

I, for one, have had the same thought.   I know he can't be sitting around all day studying film or practicing 17-yard sideline throws, but when I see him on TV, I worry that he's more focused on good-time Josh than football Josh.  Of course, there's no way for me to know, but I get that impression.  I don't see Joe Burrow all over TV.   Didn't see Derek Jeter until he retired.

Josh Allen could spend the offseason filming recruitment videos for ISIS and it would be a-okay with me if he puts up 13+ regular season wins.

There is no bigger sign that a player is more concerned with the trappings of celebrity than their play on the field than when they start cutting videos for ISIS.

I wonder if Raiders fans feel the same way about Jimmy G partying it up in Vegas with all of those escorts and pornstars.

They're mostly concerned that Jimmy G isn't very good and doesn't play if his jersey is too scratchy.

It’s not really the endorsements, it’s the posing/modeling. He looks ridiculous. At least flame me for the accurate accusation.

Would it have been better if he had a red white and blue lunch pail in those pics?
