Week 18: Pats at Bills, Sunday 1/8 1pm

I suspect that if Hamlin continues to show some progress, the players would believe that they could HONOR him by continuing to do their jobs and play football this weekend.

I also suspect Hamlin’s family would feel the same.

As horrible as it sounds, the NFL is not going to stop the league over this. There is a season and playoffs that are 100% not going to go away. This is a game that still means a lot to the Pats and has consequences to other teams. As much as we all do not really care as it is Damar 100% first, eventually the league will move on. It will be horribly difficult for our boys (and us as well on a smaller scale) but they will get back to doing what they are there to do, play football. I hope all are allowed to grieve and be able to cope with the circumstances as we all pray for #3 recovery!!! When they are ready, one way or another, it will be time to beat the hell out of the Pats, cause that's what we do now! This is a game chat, keep it as a game chat. Life is going to move on and this is part of healing for all.

This is a dumb idea that should have been firmly taken off the table yesterday morning.  Nobody is doing anybody any favors by creating uncertainty about a game coming up in four days.

That's why i said yesterday that the Bills (by today)should go all in 100% with game prep for NE.  Not doing this could leave them open to being unprepared mentally and physically to play....which could lead to more injuries and not just a beating.  The wishy washy stuff won't fly here. It's dangerous.  They should either be 100% in, or the NE game should have been called off by today.

The show must go on.

It does and as does life. The world keeps turning no matter what horrific, fantastic, sad or happy events are going on in it.

Some people choose to stop their own little world and get off it for a bit. Some decide to keep riding what’s already turning.

And both are absolutely fine choices to make.

Willing to bet that was what the first meeting was about.

Some people can’t grasp that concept.

Good sign...so are we going to see Johnson or Marlowe at safety? I'm hoping for Marlowe.

I'm trying to remember if we saw a combination of Poyer/Johnson earlier this year?  I know we had Johnson and Damar...

My guess is that Cam Lewis is ahead of Marlowe.  Cam brings some athleticism, albeit some questionable decision making

I don’t think we ever saw poyer with Jaquan.

I hate that phrase “trap game,” but this suddenly feels like a trap game.

Either the Cheatriots take advantage of an emotionally drained Bills team and get the W, or the Bills go Beast Mode for Hamlin and hang 50 on them.

Let’s hope for the latter, but my gut says we come out fairly flat.

Do the Bills bring up Cole Beasley for his 3rd and final call up? Or do they save him in case they have to play Cinci week 19?

I believe this past week was his final call up. Not sure if the nfl will allow it for this week seeing the circumstances have changed.

I think it will be Marlowe. From what I have read, Cam has been active over Marlowe because he plays Special Teams and can play corner in a pinch, whereas Marlowe does not offer the same flexibility.

I think this staff will go with the veteran in Marlowe, knowing he will likely make the safer decisions. But definitely expect both Marlowe and Cam to be active

Cole's third call up was this past Monday night - assuming it still counts as a call up?

As of now that game doesn't count

I think the NFL has to provide clarity on their plan moving forward. If it is being ruled a no contest then it wouldn't count.

Just looked at the available Free Agent safeties, and Jason McCourty is the only name I even remotely recognize.  Cupboard is pretty bare.

I would be all for signing McCourty and not even playing him if it means getting him off GMFB

The only thing I can think of is depth. It also tells me that Benford is ready to play.

Even though Rhodes has never played safety, I’d have to believe he’d be better at that position than an undrafted journeyman on his 3rd or 4th team but hey, I’m just a guy sitting on a couch 😅

Well this would likely be the worst case scenario in terms of scheduling.

So, if we didn't get the win against Cincy - we'd have no week off at any point, even if we made the SB.  If I'm reading that right.
