I feel bad for the guys with kids/family. It’s crazy that the lake bands have setup so persistent, again. I’d be wondering about my kids with a blizzard and Santa

Can barely see again after the bands were focused mostly north of us today prior to about 5pm.

It’s only 45 min car/bus from ROC to BUF airport.

And about a 5 hour ride from the thruway to Orchard Park

Well I'm sure the ones with kids and families that stay behind when Dads away on a business trip already planned an alternative as they knew he would be away and would be just returning on Xmas morning.

LOL to some of the comments in this thread. It boils down to two options:

-- have the team stranded together in a cozy Chicago hotel

-- or, have the team stranded in Cheektowaga snow drifts on Cayuga Road.

I know which I would choose.

** Cleveland, Niagara Falls, and Rochester are not options due to road blockages

Would've been a great night to take the team to Gibson's but it's closed like all other awesome dining spots.

Who's feeding this crew ?

That’s what i was thinking.. Pegula treat the boys right and take them all to the best steakhouse you can find.  Enjoy the night as best you can away from your family.  This team deserves it!!

Maybe they can hitch a ride with Gus Polinski and his Polka Band...they'd fit right in here in Buffalo...you know..."The Polka Kings of the MidWest"??

John Candy in both Planes, Trains…. and Home Alone was trying to get TO Chicago.   Just saying’.  😏

Can you land a 767 there?

yes you can.

it was subject to the 3006-11 military base BRAC base closure but kept open because it has an extra long runway that can land big aircraft. It has a reservist air national guard base there and has a weather station.

the issue with it since it’s a low commercial airport— how is it’s snow removal equipment and de- icing dtuff.  You can easily bring local snow plows out there and quickly clear the landing strip.

it’s about 2000 feet longer than buffalo.

So if you're the bills, do you fly to Rochester even though it's looking super unlikely they're boarding a bus, or just stay in Chicago?

My thought is probably get as close as possible and then figure it out. They can still fly from Roc to Buf if they can fly from Chicago to Buffalo.

Well they can’t fly into Buffalo into Monday morning, whether they do that from Chicago, Rochester or anywhere else.

I have a feeling the Bills get home tomorrow.

I think the plan is to stay in Chicago tonight.  I think they could probably fly back to Rochester tomorrow.  The airport is about 7 minutes from where I live.  I haven't heard if the state has made any statements about when the Thruway will reopen.

Yeah, they're not driving into buffalo until then either. What insurance company that insures an nfl team and all those salaries is going to sign off on that one exactly?

Quite a few scenes from Planes, Trains and Automobiles were filmed in Western NY

Really?  As Johnny Carson used to say ‘I did not know that!”
