He’s done it once already and almost did last year. The path to the SB in the NFC couldn’t be drawn up easier. Hurts, Cousins, Dak, washed Rodgers, 45 year old Brady. Which of that pile of crap are you picking to beat them?

What about the Rams?

I’m basing it on their defensive talent (when healthy) and the fact they have some playmakers on offense (Kittle, Deebo, now CMC) and run Shanahan’s scheme very well.  If Jimmy G isn’t asked to be a hero he’s a very competent game manager who can make some plays.

You don’t have to agree with me.  It’s ok.  We’ll find out by the end of the season.

9ers aren’t going to the SB. That is something most on here can guarantee. They just lost to the falcons last Sunday and their defense is having a hard time stopping the running game. Also Jimmy G is a turnover machine

I hope he plays this week against the Chiefs!

Its going to be interesting to see what Shanahan does with Deebo and Mccaffrey both on the field at the same time!

He would’ve been nice in Buffalo, but I was kind of spooked by all his injuries, and his cap hit behind this season.

As someone pointed out, the 49ers have multiple 3rd round picks: they got an extra 3rd round last year and this year for Saleh, and they get an extra one this year and next year for McDaniel.  The minority hire picks come after the comp picks.

So this year they have at least three (3) 3rd round picks.

It'll be interesting to see which 3rd round pick was included in the trade, their own, or the hiring pick.  It could theoretically be like a 2nd, a high 4th and a low 4th, and then a 5th next year.

Would have loved to have him, but apparently teams were willing to give up more than I would have.  I could see a 2nd round pick, maybe a little more In 2024, but that’s a lot of picks for a guy with his injury history.   I guess the 9ers are comfortable rolling with CMC and Lance next year, it’s all they can afford and they have no draft.. yikes.  I don’t see it pushing them over the top, maybe I’m wrong.  Hopefully, it helps them beat KC next week 😂

Considering the Dolphins have the 49ers 1st round pick, I fully support them going "all in" for this year and then tanking after that. We should all be pulling for the 49ers to make the playoffs and push that pick into the later part of the round.

Then with no picks to help Lance, they can tank in 2023, and replace Lance in 2024.

49ers have 9 turnovers on the year, which is A Lot going into week 7.  Bills have more - 10

49ers have the #1 D for Y/A in the run game, 3.3 y/a

#2 D for points against

#1 for yards overall

I forget, how did the Mammals get the 49ers 1st?

This isn’t the 9ers team of 2020. Jimmy G is terrible, they’ve been hit hard with injuries, their o line is terrible etc. San Fran is sitting at 3-3 right now and is looking at 3-4 this Sunday against KC.

It's not so much about the 49ers as it is the rest of the division and conference.

The division is totally up for grabs. This isnt the NFC of 2020 either.

Philly is rolling, but with an easy schedule. All the 9ers need to do is beat out the Rams, Seahawks, and Cardinals. Then who knows what happens in the playoffs.

Well there’s always Bijan!

49ers were already a good team, this makes them a lot harder to beat. CMC and Deebo?! I wish we had that.

Yeah, it only makes sense for an already good team to trade for him.  Of course you’d like to have two additional great players on your team.  Who wouldn’t? I’d rather have our team and win the super bowl without having to give up additional picks-  FOUR draft picks.

would you have sign off on trading a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th for him?

Wasn't that the Trey Lance trade.

They spent (3) 1st-Rounders to move up.

Did you happen to notice the laundry list of players the niners were missing vs Atlanta? They started a practice squad along the DL, OL and secondary.

Dude is clueless.

the division isn’t really up for grabs anymore imo. Rams have the worst OL in the league.  Seattle has Geno.  AZ has a college coach.  I’d be shocked if the niners don’t win the division…..unless cmac gets broken. Again

"Ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, most analysts predicted Lance or Alabama quarterback Mac Jones would be taken third overall by the San Francisco 49ers, who traded up with the Miami Dolphins in exchange for their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 and their third-round pick in 2022."

I feel like this discussion has occurred before, but wouldn't that be spending 1 1st round pick (next year?)

They swapped 1st rounders this year, and gave up next year's pick.

Oh yeah.  They’ll be pretty banged up til after their bye.  It’s looking like looking like Hufanga (who’s been amazing this year), Armstead and Ward are all out.

but getting Bosa back could be the difference between a W and a L.  Add Trent and you never know.

They rested guys against ATL last week so they could play against KC Sunday. Trent is back and that fixes every issue they’re having on the line. Bosa rested last week and he’ll crush Mahomes this week. If you think Von was able to get to Mahomes, Bosa will do even more damage. He’s playing out of his mind this year.

I hope Bosa and that defense can get after Mahomes but I have a feeling this game is going to be like the Chiefs - Bucs game from a few weeks ago. KC knows they can't fall further behind if they want to catch the Bills for the #1 seed. I expect them to play very well this Sunday. I hope I am wrong.

Well….they “rested” them because they were injured. If they were healthy, they would’ve played.

I agree, Bosa has been the best defensive player in the league this year.  He might even be better than Donald overall.

Yeah, it’s going to be tough for the niners to win without Armstead, Hufanga, Ward, mosely, Verrett, ekubam and cast.  Injuries have decimated the D, but Ryan’s has a nice system.  Need the pass rush to force TO’s

Im in the win at all cost this year camp. Was last year too and wanted a trade for Miller.

However, trading for McCaffrey would not have made us better and would have crippled the ability to find cheap talent to replace guys that they will not be able to afford in the next few years.

OBJ will cost nothing but cash. I don't think we need him and would pass on him. He's a possession WR coming off ACL tear. Is that really a need for this team?

I beleive Hyde is done as a Bill and three weeks ago I would have argued for a trade for a safety( assuming they don't move White to safety). But Hamlin has played well enough.

At this point I say roll with the guys we have.  Beane made the right moves in the off-season to win this year. If healthy the Bills roster is as good as anyone and I really don't see a glaring need anywhere. They are not going to give up on Brown at RT this quick. Would another capable swing OT to replace Doyle/Hart be an upgrade. Sure but its not really needed if Brown can come back quick and Q plays ok.

Dance with the one who bring you. Go Bills!!!

Enjoy today and this year and the next couple.  The Bills are in the same situation as Carolina was several years ago, and they were riding high and enjoying life.  Now they're fire-seling their only good player and looking into the dark tunnel of constant rebuilding.

Let's hope McBeane are able to keep the good times rolling.  Probably by holding on to draft picks and cash, to avoid breaking up our beautiful defense.

SF needed CMC to get over the top.  We didn't.

Yup. I’d love to have CMC on the team, but not at that price.

I know the price looks like a lot, but is it really more than the Bills 1st and Moss?   I'd have been a happy camper to have CMC for that.

Didn't it take a 4th for the Bills to move up 3-4 spots in the first.  San Fran will have a low 2nd and low 3rd.  It seems like all those picks combined might equal the Bills 1st.

The move makes a ton of sense for San Francisco.

The NFC -- including their own division, the NFC West -- is wide open.

They have an elite defense, some great skill position pieces, and a guy in Garoppolo who had them within a quarter of winning a Super Bowl.

The only problem is that their offense rely relies on a sound running threat, and their running backs just CAN NOT stay healthy. Kind of ironic, then, that they're bringing in CMC of all people, but I don't want to go off on an injury tangent.

Anyway, in the short term this gives them a very diverse and moveable set of skill players -- Deebo, CMC, Kittle, Aiyuk, and Juczyk are all multi-skilled chess pieces -- which should maximize Jimmy G's skillset as a physically limited game manager. In the long term, it gives them a theoretically fierce run game to keep them competitive while Trey Lance recovers and tries to re-claim the starting job.

Aside from all of that, I would have to assume that Shanahan knows CMC pretty well from the connection their Dads share.

Lastly...this is a rough move for Elijah Mitchell and Jeff Wilson fantasy shareholders 😅

Or when Tom Brady takes over at QB next year. Imagine the double TE lineup when Gronk and Kittle line up on opposite sides for Tommy.

Beane didn't want to pay the price and that is all that matters. CMC is elite when healthy but that is a big if. If the Bills make any moves before the trade deadline I hope it's to improve the OL.

An OL upgrade is definitely needed for sure. Hopefully it happens.

Its time to go all in. We need to make some moves and upgrade

It really isn't though. When you don't have a QB, every move you make should be about setting yourself up to get one. The 49ers have hit the absolute ceiling of a team with a mediocre QB - make the Super Bowl and lose to a superior QB. Their rushing offense has been really good for years. The more I think about this trade the less it makes sense.

I mean they don't exactly know what they have in Trey Lance. There's no way they can give up what they did for him to move on after one slop fest game, and an injury start 2.

This is a very fair point. For the Bills that much doesn’t make sense, the Niners could make the Super Bowl with an extra weapon like CMC
