I don't necessarily mind going for it on 4th down there in OT, but throwing the ball on 3rd down on their last offensive drive of the 4th quarter was inexcusable. Russ was playing terribly and there was no reason to think Matt Ryan could will his offense into the end zone. In that situation you run the ball on 3rd down to play it safe, then kick the FG to go up by 6 points. That would have just about ended the game.

They will fire Hackett (and rightly so) but unless Russ plays better it won't matter. I suspect Hackett fired after this season. Russ cut after two more. I don’t think they can cut Russ in two years. The dead cap will still be immense.

This is some weird energy from certain people. Are they? All of the people he has played with throughout his entire career basically dislike him to literally hate him. Going back to college. That's hard to do as a "star" QB. Cutler was probably second on that type of list but even he had teammates like Brandon Marshall who loved him. Wilson doesn't. Someone should at least be coming to his defense...nope. Doug Baldwin was his main WR for many years...nope. They pile on if anything. Richard Sherman on the Amazon post game show was literally giddy he could trash Wilson...almost like he couldn't contain his happiness about it...like a little kid waiting in line to see Santa Claus at the mall. Basically this is why in a nutshell. He is a "F***ing Poser!" as they'd say in Canada. Edited October 7, 2022 by Big Turk

Process
I wonder if the Broncos would trade us Hamler once they realize they aren't going anywhere. Would be worth a late round flyer. Collins took a brutal shot in that one.

rusty shackleford
What a terrible game of football. At least for me the streaming quality on the Amazon app was very high quality for the second week in a row. Amazon did a good job putting together their commentary crew as well. WideNine
That was so.......... meh. Tossed the remote back to my wife and said you can watch whatever else you want midway through the 2nd qtr. Checked back later on that snoozer, only to see the glacial effort was into OT. Just really bad football. Felt like a low-scoring preseason game with crappy backup QBs. UKBillFan
Just looking at the Thursday night games moving forward: 13/10/22: Commanders at Bears 20/10/22: Saints at Cardinals 27/10/22: Ravens at Buccaneers 03/11/22: Eagles at Texans 10/11/22: Falcons at Panthers 17/11/22: Titans at Packers 24/11/22: Patriots at Vikings (do they have the Thanksgiving evening game?) 01/12/22: Bills at Patriots 08/12/22: Raiders at Rams 15/12/22: 49ers at Seahawks 22/12/22: Jaguars at Jets 29/12/22: Cowboys at Titans Not the best of match ups, to be honest. Some of them might be half decent, but they're more in the latter half of the run. Any game would have to go some way to out-bore yesterday's game, though. K-9
Hackett’s clock management, including use of timeouts, leaves a ton to be desired for sure. But the lion’s share of the blame for Denver’s problems rest with Russell Wilson. Hackett has been scheming guys open all season, but Wilson either can’t find them or misses them when he does. It’s been apparent in every game this season.
