Day 3 targets

Pete

Recommended Posts

Bills have picks 160, 180, 185, 203, 209, 231, and will be quite active today.

who is left that you would like Buffalo to draft?

for me it’s gravy.  bills roster is stacked 1-53 now.  We need a punter and kick returner imo.

who you got?

Think they will use some of those picks from last night they got to try and move up. Pointless to keep them since they have limited roster spots that will be available and 6th and 7th round picks will have a tough time making it...and we know what happens when we put them on the PS. They get poached.

I love this part of the draft. Soooooo many players, choices and never know who and when.

Josh Thomson - S/CB

Amare Barno - Edge. Speed! Want him to learn for a year with Miller.

Daniel Bellinger TE SD State.

Zander Horvath - RB/FB to upgrade Gilliam and Moss.

J. Camarda Punter. Need a new one.😉

I could go on and on. But I'll leave it there for now.😁

Darn it. Forgot to put a WR...

Isaiah Weston - WR Northern Iowa.

I hear what you are saying and maybe Beane will take a different approach after Wildgoose and Anderson were plucked off the PS last year.

Beane after last draft said he liked having late round picks because it was difficult to get UDFAs to come to Buffalo. Those guys get to pick where they go and usually try to see a path to the roster, hard to do in Buffalo.

Yeah it makes sense...who wants to go to a place where they have a near 0% chance to make it?

Nice for that to be the reason they don't want to come here rather than the reasons for the last 20 years before Allen

I have no names, but my priority position needs:

  • One of the two elite Punters
  • O-line depth
  • A top speed WR who is also a return specialist

What we don't need:

  • More college All-conference special teamers

When did we draft any all-conference special teamers?

S Leon O'Neal Jr., Texas A&M

Man from a realistic standpoint. I’ll assume that we’ll draft low round 4 or high round 5 after a trade up.

Marqueese Bell SafetyFAMU

James Mitchell TE VT(Pending medical)

Cole Turner TE Nevada

Kyle Phillips WR UCLA

Zach Tom OG/OC Wake Forest( I’m a fan and would take him as my next IOL)

Spencer Burford OG UTSA(top 30 visit)

Matt Waletzko OT North Dakota( not sure he’ll be around but a high end developmental tackle)

Malcolm Rodriguez LB Oklahoma State

Darrian Beavers( tweener) I’d put him at DE but will be a big time teams guy

Brandon Smith LB Penn State(top 30)

D’Marco Jackson LB App State

Joshua Williams CB Fayetteville State( a big fan)

Demarri Mathis CB/S ( Bills love Pitt DBs )

Looking forward to tonight... plenty of picks, plenty of talent still available, likely trade ups.  Shame there is  no 4th round pick but maybe Beane fixes that early.

Punter is a need but after Beane's press conference I would be surprised if that doesn't come via UDFA.

Biggest box to check for me is a capable and reliable returner.  Im sure there will be some OL taken too...cant imagine a draft without 1 or 2 of those.

Hopefuly round 4 is QB heavy which will help us.  EDIT: after rechecking, more QBs went last night than i had originally thought so scratch that!

We have 6 picks, but how many players do you think we end up actually picking on day 3 (excluding UDFAs) after potential trade ups?

Could it be as low as 3?

Given the strength of this roster its hard to see many late round picks having a realistic chance of sticking.

The more chances you have in the lottery, the better the chances of you winning. You never know what player you may strike gold with until they get to camp.

Beane said on radio last night he very likely will not use them all, they are purely capital to move around today

The Ravens have SIX! 4th round picks. Not sure they will pick that many times. So that could be a trade up target.

The Cowboys have four 5ths.

The Dolphins have a 4th and two 7ths so maybe they want to trade down for more. The Giants have two 4ths and three 5ths. The Jets, in division, but they have two 4ths and their draft is over.the Bucs have two 4ths and no 5s or 6s. So those are some teams thats might want to trade down.

There’s still a few WR with deep speed to take a flyer on:

Jailon Nailor-  Mich St

Romeo Doubs- Nevada

Justyn Ross- Clemson

We already have that in Stevenson(the low picked WR with speed)

We had Doubs in for a visit, and from what I gather, he is both speedy, and underrated, and he played at Nevada, so probably doesn't have the buzz that a receiver of his talents should have. Color me interested.
